I agree with Newt Gangrene, this once. Most Americans would like to get a really healthy paycheck. Trouble is, a lot of them are out of work. And don't excpect many of those people to find work in this jobless recovery. So what do Newt and the fruits and nuts in his political party propose to do about that? Build more prisons? This time, debtors' prisons! By the way, Wally Herger is not a tea partier at all. He's just pandering at election time, as usual.

There's a woman married to the US president who hates America.

You've got a far left socialist, plastic surgery freak show running the House in congress.

So some guy who does historical re-enactments running for office isn't at all out of place for the States.

I like the Tea Party's platform of cutting the deficit, cutting taxes, and cutting spending. That is wicked awesome.
Too bad it only works in HappyFantasyLand! How can you cut the deficit if you have nothing to pay the interest with? How do you build the economy without investing in America? When the infrastructure of our communities begin to fall apart, our spending is going to explode and we won't have any money to pay for the natural disasters, crumbling highways, failing power grids, and education reform that loom over our country like a thunderhead.
Tea Party folks, I understand you are angry, but you are only going to %$&* up America. A movement driven by Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck is going to solve America's problems? Seriously?! You are being taken for a ride America and your children and their grandchildren are going to suffer. History will look back on these days as the beginning of the end. childish article/opinion

When you lack explanation and successful ideas of your own, it's cowardly to call a very large group of Americans "crazy". Why does the PP allow such verbal vomit?

The half dozen or so hateful people on this thread like Publius2, Scholar, Brian Jones, L Matthews, etc., do not represent the real, honest, hard working citizens of Paradise. Neither does the Tea Party.

The local Tea Party gang, the Paradise Patriots, only has 32 members on their website. If you combine the population of Paradise and the Upper Ridge, we have a population of nearly 50,000 people. These guys aren't even a blip on the radar. The Tea Party gang are a flash in the pan that wont be around much longer.

These people don't support America. I was sitting behind one at the forum and he had an American flag pinned upside down on his jacket. Section 8a of the United States Flag Code states, "The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property." If these guys hate our country enough to claim their lives are in danger then they should probably go start their own country like Jim Jones did. He thought the same thing and that is why he ordered the suicide of all of his followers. He believed and told his followers that America was an evil place that only wanted to brainwash or kill the members of his cult. Sound familiar? Talk about drinking the kool-aid!

A group with a mission that supports being hateful, suspicious, mistrustful, angry, uncooperative, disruptive, and rude is very un-American. The Tea Partiers are isolationists who hate everything this country stands for. They don't even want to pay their fair share. They are the ones who act like our government owes them a living. No one is fooled except those who are looking for an excuse to hate!

This is how some Tea Party members spend their time: http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/10/oh ...

The Paradise Patriots should be proud!

Hey, Jack. I get that you favor folks like Brown and Boxer over Whitman and Fiorina. You're a liberal so of course, you prefer liberals. That only makes sense. But to couch your preferences under the argument that somehow Whitman and Fiorina are trying to "buy" the election simply because they are spending their OWN money is disingenuous. As a former dues paying teacher, I've seen my money go to candidates I don't even support just because the union leadership likes them. In the case of Whitman and Fiorina, at least they aren't taking anyone's money against their wishes. It's their money, so why shouldn't they be allowed to spend it as they see fit? Please have a little faith in we, the people. If we don't like what Whitman and Fiorina stand for we won't elect them, regardless of how much of their money they spend on advertising.

You are an economic ninconpoop. How do figure on cutting deficits by the government spending more?
All the money to support government must come from the private sector ... government can't hire more people and pay them more than the private sector, without eventually going bankrupt ... just ask Greece.

How can you spend your way out of the defecit? That is what the current crop of politicians thinks they're going to restore America. The title of this column should be "There are many nuts in Washington D.C., which by the way it the real "HappyFantasyLand!"

How much, what percentage of the Stimulus (AKA Porkulus) has actually gone toward refurbushing our nations infrastructure?(hint: the lower single digits).

The tea party movement is grass roots - but you don't seem to realize that. It tapped into the anger of Americans who feel that our elected officers act more like taskmasters than representatives. Palin, Beck et al are Republican efforts to ust the grass roots movement to help the Republicans with their goals.

The Democrat controlled Congress are the ones who have taken us for a ride and ensured that our economy will collapse. Our only hope is to get them out of congress hope whoever replaces them will be able to undo their ill conceived disasters that will make us all slaves for generations.

Yes they will.

Yes it is, since our next major war could easily be with China who is building super weapons of their own and beginning to push it's weight around against the US military. I predict we'll soon see a move against Taiwan. That probably won't happen until the Dollar collapses.

Why didn't you people learn to spell? Thank heaven we don't waste more money on schools because the inability to spell (or communicate for that matter) is apparently widespread and acceptable. It's pretty ironic that the modern day Tea Party gives the original Tea Party a bad name. A goofy batch at best.
