and yet the wingnuts love Nielsen because he has an 'R' next to his name, even though he does nothing to help anyone. Reminds me of Duane Chamberlain. What has he done as a Supervisor? What are his accomplishments?

Jake: Thanks for pointing out the obvious. As if we don't see for ourselves what Neilsen has accomplished for our community. You apparently don't know him well. He has lived off the public tit for so long between his prior "work" as state senator, parole board and now in the assembly. The guy will do and say just enough to get the tit flowing and that's it. But thanks for staying on course.

This is not an opinion piece it is an obvious political hit piece. Jake is in no way an outsider he is a partisan political commentator. This donation to the Democrats is so typical of the Daily Democrat and I hope the local Democrats appreciate this unreported gift. Yes Jake in a way you are an outsider but the main thrust of your article was about politics not geography.

My commentary is about politics, yes, not geography. I know I'm represented by Democrats in Sacramento, but that doesn't mean I want a Democrat in place of Nielsen, if that's what you're asking.

Charlie Schaupp, who is running against Nielsen again in 2010, is plenty Republican and could potentially do a better job serving the 2nd Assembly District's voters. I don't care about their political affiliation I wanted to see direct, meaningful contributions from the elected representative to the rep.'s constituents. I can't find any from Nielsen.

Jake:

You have stated your position well. I too do not care about the party label. I am more concerned about what the individual delivers. History demonstrates that Neilsen promises to deliver but fails year after year. Yet, he continues to fool so many of his constituents. How does he get away with it?
