wanna turn a red state blue. here is the recipe:
1.kick out a good main street republican as state party chair and put in a right wing nut case with a brain the size of a pea.
2. run a hugh failure as a governor who fought more with his own party than the dems against a popular mark warner.
3. get a good moderate republican presidential candidate to nominate a half witted far right zelot as his vice pres running mate to appease the crazies.
4. allow folks like the ethically challanged and stupid mike wade and his boss man tom gear who doesnt pay his taxes to be the front men for the party.
5. run primaries against hard working succesful republicans like Marty Williams with the likes of Stall who is less pretty, and even more stupid than Palin and then lose this safe republican seat to a democrat and in doing so lose their majority in the Va senate.

I could go on for ever but i hope you get my drift. our party is suffering fom it's own willingness to turn our party over to right wing nut cases and allowed them to chase good folks out of the party. if we dont turn this around it is going to get alot worse. remember these nuts could care less if we are in a majority they just want to be in charge of whats left.

I think you are pointing in the wrong direction. The Republicans who have been in power mostly are the old school democrats who switched when the democrats started their leftward drift. These folks have moved on. Republicans had no talent to replace them and what we have recently seen is inept power hungry politicians mixed in with several powerful RINO's who sold their party out. Chicester, Marty Williams are two of the top scags. Look at the RINO's for Warner ads on tv. Tom Norment is another one who needs to be forced out. He is in the pocket of Dominion Power and has no interest in protecting citizens interests. We seem to have a party full of traitors and special interest protectors. No wonder we got creamed yesterday. We Republicans have no leadership. No one to be able to trust and no one even in the immediate future to carry on. It's going to be a long dry spell for Republicans in the Commonwealth.

It's time to stop licking our wounds and get busy! The mid-term election is just two years away and we have a party to reform!

Well said. Personally I'm glad a lot of them are gone, and a few more need replacing, including our rep. Mr. Morgan.
Its time to take a firm stand and do what conservatives believe in. Our Republicans have failed us in a miserable way, and I'm very freightened at the way the country is moving. Republicans have had many years of governing, and they have done a poor job.
Thank you for your insight and comments.

Indeed.

Work must prevail and Citizen Kaine must go.

And what a rude comment. Some folks are Old Virginia and find this tacky on Kaine's part. Thank GOD O did NOT pick Kaine- good grief the horror.

Gov Kaine is completely wrong about "Old Virginny"
being dead. It will always be in the hearts of
Virginians who born and raised here. Virginia's past is not a scar - You cannot change the past. Slavery was a part of history and you can't change that. You can't rewirte all the history books in the schools of Virginia. General Robert E. Lee was not fiction nor was the War between the Staes.

As a native Virginian and retired U.S. Army Officer with a family military history that dates back to the Virginia of 1600s. The man-boy Tim Kaine (my wife is a native Virginian) wants to turn the Commonwealth of Virginia into the Peoples Republic of Virginia. He does not have a clue how many Virginians he has ticked off.
