<quoted text>Wrong, by voting for who represents their best interest, they're telling both parties what they believe in, instead of the parties telling them what they should accept or that they approve of the diection that the parties are headed in. I won't be voting for Goode, but I will defend anyone who is voting their conscience, like me...I'm on record for Gary Johnson

The parties should conform to us, not the other way around
While I agree with everything you said, do you honestly think that either political party really gives a crap? Their focus is on the acquisition of power, not what's in citizens' best interest.

Low voter turnout would make just as much of a statement I believe.

Yes, I do; because if they deem a third party a threat they will have to become inclusive those ideals, AKA Ross Perot. They're actually hoping for low voter turnout. It's easy to take liberty from those who willingly give it away, whther they do it under the guise of security, hopelessness, or disillusionment.(one cannot affect change.)
.
I completely agree with your statement about their acquisition of power.

"We do not have two political parties in this country, America. We have one party; called the Big Government Party. The Republican wing likes deficits, war, and assaults on civil liberties. The Democratic wing likes wealth transfer, taxes, and assaults on commercial liberties. Both parties like power; and neither is interested in your freedoms. Think about it. Government is the negation of freedom. Freedom is your power and ability to follow your own free will and your own conscience. The government wants you to follow the will of some faceless bureaucrat."

I agree, but isn't Goode only going to be on the Virginia ballot? If so, then I think voting for him would be a waste, unless one only wants to make a statement in Virginia. Perot was more of a threat as he was in the national spotlight whereas Goode is only in the Virginia spotlight.

I would have loved to see a 3rd party candidate this year. I believe that they would have done well even if they at least kept both parties from being so polarized.

Gary Johnson will be on all 50 (57?) states, but I think even a write in for Ron Paul is making a statement. It's only a waste to those who think that they (or their vote) would otherwise vote for thier guy, which is uncertain. It certianly is better to vote one's conscience than to vote in protest (for for the lesser of two evils). That is why there is so much push back from the party of exclusion. I didn't come up with the term RINO, but I've been called one, and do you know what? I'll own it. I've found a party that represents me better than either of the other two, and that's the Libertarain, and trust me, if it weren't libertarain; the Constitutional would be the next.(I did swear an oath to protect it against all enemies, foreign and domestic.)
.
Let's put it this way, if everyone who said that they'd vote for a third party candidate if they thought a third party candidate could win, would? They might win. By not voting one is not sending a message, They're consenting silently.
.
We shouldn't have to go to the parties, they should come to us. We, the people, give the government power

The only wasted vote is for someone you don't believe in. I don't believe in Romney, but I KNOW what is in Virgil's heart!

Fair enough. Guess I'll probably be opting for a 3rd party as well.

This is very good news for the voters to have more choices. All states should put him on the ballots and give voters more freedom of choice.
