The "refresh button" is indeed an apt metaphor, and separates those internet-wise voters (especially invigorated young Democrats) from those who don't utilize this powerful tool (thinning ranks of GOPers). Compare the campaign websites of Goode vs. that of Perriello, and you'll see the evidence of retrograde Web 1.0 vs. 21-st century Web 2.0. When you push "contact" on Goode's site, a snail-mail address and the icon of a mailbox (!!) pops up -- I kid you not! Whereas Perriello's site, like Obama's, contains social networking tools to gather volunteers and has directions to local campaign offices. This technological example kinda parallels Goode's throw-back policies vs. Perriello's forward-looking pragmatism.'Nuff said.
