Obummer - Great solution for growing jobs in recession. 1 well in 42,000 in the gulf has a problem, so let's shut all future activity. Hey, how about we take that approach the next time a plane crashes, a train derails, a semi crashes.

Drilling ban to cost thousands of jobs

NEW YORK ( CNNMoney.com )-- The White House responded Thursday to concerns that the ban on drilling for oil in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico will cost the region thousands of jobs.

"The six month moratorium on deepwater drilling was instituted for a clear reason," White House spokesman Ben LaBolt told CNN. "The President believes we must ensure that the BP Deepwater Horizon spill is never repeated."

But Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said that prohibiting deepwater drilling could cost the state up to 6,000 jobs this month, and 10,000 jobs over the next few months, in a letter sent Wednesday to president Obama.

If the ban continues for an "extended period," Jindal said, the state could lose up to 20,000 existing and new jobs by next year.

He won’t change his mind-this is the “crisis” he and the Corruptocrats have been waiting for to instate their “green” agenda.

Get used to the fact that us serfs are going to be living a 5th century agrarian lifestyle while the Corruptocrat fascists and their supporters will be sipping their cold Champagne in their private jets as they fly between their multiple mansions.

The only possible consolation is that the tens of thousands of jobs lost were once held by Obama-voters.

Yeah, the hell with the fishermen, tour operators, resort employees, their jobs aren't worth as much as the guys working the rigs. The oil industry is creating new jobs every day, like pelican washer, oil shoveler, sand scrubber....

They would not be needed if the president did not prevent the clean up like he did. We ended up with over a month of oil leaking before he allowed the cleanup, berms, booms, burning... that were demanded for right away.

The President exploited it for all it is worth by preventing measures to control it until well after the oil hit the shores.

halting oil drilling means we have to get it from far across the planet even more potential for spills, while we loose jobs, jobs, jobs. Plus we dont learn anything new don't already know by stopping drilling.

We get most of our foreign oil from Canada.

The drilling would have to stop temporarily for those
wells that have the same type of equipment as BP's well has (had).
It's not for ALL wells.
