I am disgusted that President Bush went on The Leno Show and made fun of the Special Olympians. What a low and unsavory character he is. I'm just glad the MSM will put this on the front pages and take Bush to task. Oh wait, it wasn't President Bush? MSM ......crickets.......

If Komas wants to keep her day job she better rethink her votes; the new mantra is "vote them all out of office",

If anybody listens to what she says instead of watching where she votes, they are kidding themselves.

She is as liberal as they come. Even if she claims she isn't liberal, let's see her take on the liberals that run congress! Oh yeah...she won't.....

Well I see the best and the brightest of the Republicans are up early this morning. One comment completely off topic and two empty illogical threats without any discussion.Typical Republican thuggery that passes for discussion.
Ms.Kosmas should stop with the fiscal responsibility pablum that she feels is necessary to appease her apparently uneducated, constituients . That clap trap started with Ronald Reagan (perhaps even Hoover) who preached that government was the problem while he raised taxes and started the Departments of Energy and Education.
No one, not Republicans nor Democrats believes in small government, they just differ on how the large Federal government should spend its money.
As an example with Ms. Kosmas, how can she seek "fiscal responsibility" and yet have her hand out for NASA for $2 billion. Oh I get it "fiscal responsibility " but not in my backyard or with any of the services or "grants" that my constituients need. Interesting that she invidted Mica to her swearing in; he is the granddaddy of Republican double talk, preaching small government for everyone else and never meeting an earmark for his district that he did not love.
The country will be better off served when its elected officials and voters grow up. We have huge resources in this country and huge needs to keep the country running. Enough of this clap trap of "fiscal responsibility". If you believe the government has a role in promoting the general welfare of its people with effective community government programs than say so. Otherwise keep your hands in your pocket and tell your constituients that you do not believe in government spending and therefore they will not have NASA or a new VA hospital or school funds that are not raised by their own property taxes or roads or anything.

Kozmas could avoid being labeled a liberal if she wouldn't vote straight liberal. She is more worried about the label than she is the substance. In her home district she wants to be considered a moderate, while in Washington she wants to be considered a liberal. Who does she really represent? Her early voting record gives her away as a liberal although the Sentinel will cover for her by calling her a moderate (the Sentinel's code word for liberal).

No really tea party people, which Federal government progect , the 2 Billion for NASA, the stimulus money that will make up for the lack of school funds, the $123,000,000 set aside for Everglades restoration? How about the $100,000,000 Southern Command center the military wants for Miami. Or the money needed at McDill AFB or Eglin AFB. These are all Federal government expenditures, that your Congressmen, and Senators (Republican and Democrat) asked for as earmarks. Go to a website that lists the earmarks by district and then call your Representative and tell them you do not want them to seek any Federal money for your district. Please Daytona Beach teabagger, call Mica's office and tell him that the tens of millions of dollars in earmarks he sought for his district are outrageous and that you will vote him out next time if he so much as votes or asks for one dime of Federal money. Go ahead , make our day. But it won't happen cause one persons earmark is another person's very much needed Federal project that is oh so important to the district.

Another article that pushes the button for the sake of stirring the masses. Liberal this, conservative that....nonsense. In all honesty, many people are both liberal and conservative in different ways.

Rep. Kosmas is doing fine so far. Of course, she is not perfect (no one is), but she is a vast improvement from Tom Feeney. Some Republicans should recognize that Kosmas has been in office for only two months and at least give her a chance before they continue their obsessions with power. BTW, it is going to take more than the same ole tired/divisive Pelosi bashing. Instead of the constant "no" platform, constituents would rather hear ideas.

She is a liberal. Her campaign was partially financed by donations from Charlie Rangel and other big libs from West Palm Beach. She has nothing to offer even liberal constituents. Tom Feeney was no prize but she is a total waste of space that will do absolutely nothing to help the constituents. It will be like someone babysitting the seat until a better candidate gets elected.

Liberals help their constituents which is what liberals do. They believe in the power of the Federal government to help the voters form a more perfect union.
A non liberal Republican alternative will preach smaller government less taxes and should also tell his or her constituents "no soup for you" I'm not a liberal I am not going to seek Federal spending on your behalf.
So what is it that you want, a liberal to help the constituents or someone who will tell their constituents go to he-- because they do not believe in government spending? This is the lack of critical thinkgin of the American voters. They don't want liberals but they want help in their community from the Federal Government.

I would prefer someone who doesn't take money from ultra liberal cheats like Charlie Rangel. I would prefer someone who is honest and upfront with constituents and not talking out of both sides of their mouth. You surely cannot be serious that only liberals help constituents?

No instead it is the whine of someone displeased that people misrepresent themselves whether in politics or personal life.

Nice argument...shows alot of class.

One guy argues facts (i.e. voting records) and you just accuse people of "whining".

I agree. Labels are over-used. The bottom line is that whether you agree with all of Kosmas' positions or not, at least we have an honest person in the office. Feeney's well-documented corruption was symbolic of all that is wrong with Washington. Let's give her a chance and see how she does.

Honest?

The only difference between Feeney and Kosmas is that you KNOW that Feeney is a crook.

I agree with the "let's give her a chance" argument. I wouldn't go as far as to call her "honest".

After watching Chris Dodd and Barney Frank give out bonuses to AIG employees....then take them away and blame the CEO... I'm not sure politicians are very high on the totem pole of honesty...

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
