Unfortunately when an article is circulated, it get titled differently as in this case. "Congress' Dysfunction Long in the Making" with the related Topix forum.

http://ap.cjonline.com/pstories/us/20111001/8...

I have to admit that this title misses the mark, "Partisanship, Voters Blamed for Gridlock" just like the first.

It would have more accurately been surmised with: "Partisanship: The Cause of Congress' Dysfunction which has been Long in the Making".

I'll just place my comment here as I did there as follows:

Interesting and very precise article. To be much more succinct, which is funny coming from a very verbose person, I'd just say that most of the dysfunction comes from the more extreme ideologies within both major parties who also ostracize those within their ranks that are more flexible; hence, all the centrist are slowly becoming an endangered species. If we as centrist call out both party affiliates in their extremism: bigotry, towing the party line & everyone be damned who doesn't, religious zealots advocating for their own extremes homophobia and condoning gay-bashing or at the other extreme of enabling illegal invaders, etc, the centrist becomes the target of both extremes and portrayed as either being an advocate of illegal invaders (when not). Then if the centrist is OK with gays having the same rights as heterosexual couples, the centrist ends up being jacketed as "gay" even if they're not.

Bottom line is we need more centrist to step into the political arena, if we ever expect to rise above all the dysfunction!!! There are no two ways about it either!

I just threw in my 2 cents on the other forum adding to what you said.

To cut to the point, the dysfunction only exists because of voter apathy and the politicians think they can do whatever they want because the people either don't care or aren't aware of what they are doing.

Off topic now, from here on out we're only going to post comments on the forums that show the little newspaper icon. They only show up when an actual Topix editor creates the forum or the automated system does. I think it would avoid much of what you depicted in your statement about those problematic souls in the internet world.

Hey SB, I think the obsessed "judge it troll" really hates us all more than usual because IT keeps creating hate forums. Don't know if you saw it, but no sooner than it went up, it was gone. Maybe that is why all IT has left is the meaningless little icons. Can't you just hear this troll muttering under its voice, "I hate them all. I hate them."
I don't think the troll realizes that those votes crack us up because they confirm that our commenting on the forums just p!sses this bored moron to the point its mouth must be foaming.
I figured your comment was worth bringing here since the number of negatives is higher here.:)

Speaking of dysfunction, this is a good example (the manipulator's behavior) of the type of dysfunction that occurs on Topix because of the political differences. Trolls are so predictably funny. I think they think the more they whine and play with little pictures that we'll say "boo hoo" and run away. WRONG.:)

I forgot to say that maybe, just maybe, from here to tomorrow that the whole lot of them will grow up. The odds of that happening are realistically near zero, but I haven't given up on them yet. After all we are on the same side of the immigration issues just minus the bigoted mentality.

Hmmm, only 1 negative across must mean only 1 thing. The coward with the tender ego must be sleeping already to make sure it is up by 2am to spread more hate and meaningless disapproval of us. Here's another one for your amusement & a good excuse for the 5th comment for the last 20 points.

I figure if I mention the game, you'll just blow a gasket and maybe get some psychological help. Bye bye whackadoo.
