This situation has been wisely handled EXACTLY as it should be: i.e. allow a handful of Congerssional representatives to view the photographs. There is NO NEED for the general public to view them, but with the way the internet works, there will no doubt be a few leaks of the photos, and the very same people who INSIST on rubbernecking at gruesome auto accident scenes will feel compelled to look.(It's sad, really.)

The Birthers, however, will NEVER be satisfied. If the TRUTH does not support their agenda, they simply deny it........

"Ryan says the photos shouldn't be made public because their release could lead to violence."

How about this; Violence lead to these pictures!

Couldn't be as gruesome as the deceased bodies of people who jumped over 100 floors from the World Trade Center.

Thank you Navy Seals!

Considering the lies and cover-up regarding the murder of President Kennedy over 40 years ago I would rely too much on government photos and other so-called evidence. Ryan, you must be very gullible.

Even if he is dead. Why would you want to see the pictures? That will make more terrorists mad. Also, I thought is add this; terrorists aren't real Muslims. Muslims believe in peace and nonviolence. These are murdslims. Murder+Muslims. Can't everybody just get along? Let's avoid other peoples business. That's right Saudi arabia I mean you. We're glad you have your own religion, we have ours. Lets be professional about this. If you were legit Muslims you'd be calm and sweet people. Not bombing random places and killing innocent people. What good is that doing? Making you a hated country. Unless you like being hated and feeling bad, I'd stop. We don't want anything to do with you... I think you just want to be recognized; like the kid in class you yells so everybody will look at him.*claps* congratulations, we all know you now. But anyhow, let's NOT see the pictures. I'm not interested in seeing a dead body. And let's stop celebrating somebody's death people that is warped!!! He had a soul, even if he did deserve it, you are no better. Equality.

The only problem that I see with this is we didn't blow his dome off of his shoulders. Great call President Obama and great job Seals.

Pictures or not, the most important thing was that Obama saw to it that Osama was treated with such dignity and respect by washing him and giving him his proper muslim funeral. Kissing muslim rearend is always the right thing to do.

Some might see that as an attempt at being the better person.

Who cares if they're gruesome. Political correctedness is a growing problem in this country. The government is increasingly becoming the controlling mother bird that determines what's good for us and what isn't because they think we're too stupid to know and choose for ourselves.
I'LL be the judge of what's good for me and what isn't. Post the photos.

We should continue to take the high road in this matter. Posting the pictures gains us nothing and serves to inflame radical Islam further. Because Al Qaeda is playing the part of the sore loser is not reason for us to be bad winners.

Nobody cares about whether they are too gruesome for YOU. The issue is whether their release might incite heightened risk of retaliatory action. It's what you might call a national security issue. You don't get to decide. Too inconvenient to run such things on popularity polls.
