Emmer avoiding voting on "a third bill Thursday intended to induce drunken drivers to install breath-activated ignition devices in their vehicles."

Gee, I wonder why a state legislator and Republican candidate for governor who has TWO drunk driving convictions on his record would want to aqvoid voting on that?

Do we want a TWO-TIME DRUNK DRIVER leading this state?

Before all you wingnuts get the vapors about Democrats making an issue of Emmer's two-time drunk driving past, you should know that it was one of your own, Marty Seifert, who raised the issue most recently:

Emmer is just building an Obama-like non-voting record. If he had snorted Coke 20 years ago, he might be president.

Wait until the DFL governor's primary race. That will be textbook eating of their own. Don't get into an eating constest with the hyphen. She keeps a shaker of Lawry's in her desk drawer.

But can you find a DRUNK DRIVING CONVICTION on ANY of the DFL candidates? Let alone TWO like Double-Drunk Emmer? I don't think Driving While Using Lawry's is against the law.

The DWI convictions were 20 years ago. What about the DFL mantra of forgiving for past issues? And you don't think voters can't dig into any DFL legislators in St. Paul and find one or more DWI arrests? As for Marty Siefert bringing up the DWI convictions you are right he did. But that move also cost him the GOP endorsement for Governor. You must not think the current crop of DFL candidates getting ready for the DFL primary won't attack each other? Think again! It does not matter anyways because the DFL will not win the Minnesota Governors race anyways. As you can see all over the good old U.S.A., voters are throwing out DFL incumbents in primaries. The DFL will get their a s s handed to them in the November elections.

Marty is a skinny guy. The only candidate that could physically eat their own would be Marge.

I asked if you can find a single DWI among the DFL candidates for governor, let alone TWO like Dounble Drunk Emmer's. Still waiting for an answer, although I understand that as a Vikings fan, you must have difficulties comprehending these things.

Seifert lost the endorsement because your party has been hijacked by a bunch of nutjobs with tin-foil hats. Teabaggers like their drunks I guess.

I noticed that he was avoiding tough votes, presumably due to cynical political considerations in his race for governor. Not a very good tactic from a man who wants to convince us he can take a stand and be a leader.

The republicans have been lucky with pawlenty, but I have a bad feeling about emmer--sole qualification being born again christian... I have a worse feeling about the democratic candidate.

Looks like another obama/mccain race to me--no matter who wins, we lose.

The dwi convictions are ancient history, and it just makes his critics look desparate and craven.

The liberals are quite comfortable if the alcoholic is a liberal as with mark dayton--so this is just typical liberal double-standard hypocracy anyway.

How many DWI convictions does Dayton have?

I think you don't grasp what "hypocrisy" means.

Dayton's hypocrisy would have to do with fleeing Washington during the anthrax scare, while leaving his staffers behind to fend for themselves, and now claiming he is qualified to run the state because he doesn't back down from the tough issues. But the DWI thing you are 100% correct about.

Hey Weird, Metzen's not running for governor. Can't you Teabaggers read?

As for Dayton, when were his DWIs? Emmer's SECOND one was 10 years after his first. And the guy still hasn't admitted he's a drunk. "That was in the past. I'm born again." A Teabagger's "Accept No responsibility" answer if I ever heard one.

Hey, when did Bush show up after the Twin Towers went down? A couple days later in Omaha? Rudy Giuliani seemed to be running America for a couple of days.

I guess I won't vote for Bush for governor of Minnesota either then.
