Romney steps away from Paul Ryan's Medicare cuts

Mitt Romney on Wednesday unequivocally disavowed more than $700 billion in Medicare spending cuts proposed by his new running mate, Rep.

In an interview on “CBS This Morning,” Romney was asked how he squared his running mate’s plan to cut spending on the popular healthcare program for the elderly with his criticism of President Obama for making the same reductions.

“First of all, Congressman Ryan has joined my campaign, and his campaign is my campaign now, and we’re on exactly the same page,” Romney said in response to anchor Anthony Mason’s question.

Romney just pulled all of Ryan's teeth. Now Ryan can gum his way through the campaign.

So, by the FOXLIES wackadoo standards; Mr Romey is officially a liberal Socialist.

Where does that leave the puppets and racists and fellow travelers of the tea-bag movement?

I don't like neither one of their plans, Obamacare strips 700 million out of medicare and Ryan only takes a half step towards privatization and I will end up making up the other half.

If you are going to privatize something you can't do it half assed you got to go all the way. Only insuring old people is going to be about as popular with insurance companies as only insuring sick people.

You have to dump employer paid health plans, government plans of all types and have one insurance pool with young and old sick and well.

Then give people vouchers to buy what they want with the voucher being enough to cover the basic plan.

You make good points; but good luck making the wealthy give up their super-plans, and going in with thr poor.

Obama stripped not $700 million but $700 BILLION from Medicare to give to ObamaCare.

Obama closed the door, literally, to exclude republicans in shaping ObamaCare.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will INCLUDE, not Exclude, democrats in the process of improving healthcare.

The people deserve the SAME healthcare as the PResident, the VP, Speaker, the Majority Leader, the Minority Leader ALL have.

We want the SAME healthcare, not some trickle down healthcare fashioned by people faraway from local entities and states.

NO to BEHIND CLOSED DOOR OBAMAcARE...REPEAL the whole damn thing and start over

Remember ObamaCare is a TAX. And with Obama MORE TAXATION will be forthcoming.

What's Obama's plan for Medicare?
What's Obama's plan for the budget?
Why did the democrat dominated Senate vote down Obama's budget?
Why didn't Obama work with Harry Reid to create a budget after nearly 4 years in office?

Obama has failed America.

Time for change.

The Ryan plan give seniors the choice of a premium support program or the current Medicare program.

*correction:

The Ryan plan gives those under the age of 55 the choice of his proposed 'premium support' program or the current Medicare program.

Current seniors and those over 55 would still receive the current Medicare program.

If Ryan's plan is so good for seniors, why wait?

Ryan's Medicare plan has the same cuts, but to the people, rather than to medical insurers, drug companies, etc. Look past the one-liners by the right wing lying machine.

As usual, you have it backwards. Ryan's plan focuses on taking the Democrat built-in multi-billing, redundant, or unneeded services and other fraudulent practices by service providers out of the picture, giving more control to the individual recipients of care.

they won't have to if it is done right, they are free to select and pay for some kind of fancy plan that will let them fly across the country for some famous specialist even thought there are perfectly good doctors where they live. You see the robert plan only covers major medical, just like it used to be when robert was a kid, everything else the patient pays for, though I would not object to some clinics and health fairs to make sure the poor got preventive care. I would have to also only allow insurance companies to offer
