Ohioans Bemoan Self-Inflicted Fate

If it wasn't so sad, it would be laughable. In a LA Times story today Ohio voters from a small village who voted 2 to 1 to elect Kasich as their governor have been surprised that state budget cuts will probably force them to disincorporate the village they call home.

Elaine who has been on the village council for 19 years, whose husband voted for Kasich has this to say:

"He could have cut less than what he did,"

I would just like to know why or how Kasich could have cut less? Why would Kasich care that the village you have called home for at least the last 19 years is no longer going to exist. If you had paid attention to what Kasich was saying before the election you might have figured out that he doesn't care about you, but your town voted for him 2 to 1 and now the town gets to pay the price. It will no longer exist.

Jim Thorpe, a retiree in Wapakoneta, a town near Uniopolis, says:

"Some of it needed to be done,"

So towns across Ohio will disappear because it needed to be done, that is until it is your town that no longer exists. Or it is possible Jim doesn't really care about his town?

Here is one of my favorites quotes, the Republican mayor of Amberley Village outside Cincinnati says:

"These communities have existed for generations. To try to devastate them with funding that has been taken away is un-American and un-Ohioan,"

Well what I have to say to him is, you are next, get ready for it. I do feel sorry for these people, they really don't have a clue about what they have done and what they are doing. To sum it up, many blame the Federal Government, from the article:

Many blame the federal government for the budget problems, accusing it of spending money on bureaucracy and fancy dinners. Others say they want the budget balanced as long as certain bits of spending remain.

"We need to see the cuts," said Joe Hornung, a retiree dressed in an Ohio State baseball cap and leather jacket. "I would just hate to see the police go."

I really just don't see how the Federal government is responsible because of fancy dinners but I guess I just don't understand. To Mr Hornung, your police are going to go, good luck when someone robs your house at gun point because the police only protect the rich who can pay.

My favorite quote is from the postmaster, who is a Federal Employee:

"People don't pay attention to what's being cut until they're being affected," he said. "They want to see smaller government, but they don't want to see cuts."

Well to the voters of Ohio who continue to vote for Right Wing Extremists, hold on to your wallets cause there coming for your social security and medicare next. Keep voting for the Politicians who have no interest in your well being and by the time you realize it, you will be living on the street with all those "welfare people".
