Drones? Like targets? I think you mean UAVs, or as the USAF now calls them, RPVs (Remotely Piloted Vehicles).

Good idea, but they need to be armed to take out smugglers heading north. If I were a CBP agent, shoot first and ask questions later will take care of the attacks against them...

They only need to be armed with a camera. It allows the ground forces (Border Patrol, National Guard, Military) to have an eye above where the coyotes and others can see, hear or take action against them. We still need ground forces to intercept and detain these folks - not to mention to procure and destroy their contraband.

It's about flippin' time they start getting serious! This shoudl be implemented across our whole southern border, not just in Texas. I hope Gov. Richardson is in talks to partner with Texas on this initiative, or else guess where they will all be crossing?
