They hoped that Obama, bolstered by the 70 percent-plus support he received from Hispanic voters, might now feel ready to champion the cause he largely avoided during his first term.

How can you be so sure of this. Link?

You haven,t answered my question.
Responsibility just doesn't cut it and you know this, especially when our nation is dealing with those here illegally. Responsibility means nothing to them as they have already demonstrated no regard for our laws at all.
If they were responsible they would still be here in Mexico

I am sorry Dave but it seem like you are living in the past an Americans need to look into a future. They are already here , they are not going to leave, neither be rounded and deported. Even if possible, cost would be huge as much for taxpayers as for the economy itself. I know life hurts sometimes but that is how life become sometimes. No1 took care of the problem of illegal immigration for the last 26 years(as you pointed the time frame). You need to ask yourself why? I dont think it is because of overlooking it. It was about something that people add up to or country and economy and we shouldn't blame and punish them only for mistkes(or not?) of our leaders. It is as much unfair as unwise. That is just my opinion but need to be consider as well as yours.

He did plenty considering no support from the parliament. President alone has limited "lawmaking" power. It seem from the pools that Latino and Asian Americans think pretty much the same and they are closest to the subject.

So you are saying that if we require all people attempting to wire money from this country to another country to prove legal status to be in this country as a requirement of transfering the money to another country we can choke off this group of illeglas from achieving thier goals? Hmm, that otto spoil put a wet blanket on that motive.
Do you have anymore suggestions for chasing them out of here?
I think letting them live here legally would make them more likely to spend money here and pay taxes not only from what they consume.
We need to look at this subject more broadly than just unspecified fear or/and desire to punish them or "teach them a lesson". It is very unwise and mostly from our - fellow Americans interests

No1 can be sure of anything in this world but making the come out of the shadows of society is the first step and the fact that someone is so desperate to feed his/her family that decide to leave homeland and often risk life to cross the border doesn't ncessarly mean that it is a bad person who is not worth to trust anymore becousue "has had no respect to or laws". I wonder how many times we "bend" our respect for the law for example sitting beind the wheel after more than one glass of wine or cheating just a little" while "filling tax" every year...

I say we start with those here in violation of our laws, You know, the illegal, and making them come out of the shadows by any means necessary, even by force. In other words, round those up. IMO

Screw the GOP. Last time this country was great Clinton was president. Let the taxes go back to what they were when Clinton was president. The Bush tax cuts hurt our economy. They failed, just like Bush did. It's time to cut military spending and to use the savings to PAY for the useless wars.

The voters have spoken.

If you want to reform immigration, put the people who hire illegals in jail. Process more requests for legal immigration. Make illegals already here go back or else let them stay and pay high fines. It's time to be a country of laws again, no more free-loaders who deal in the black market as jobj-seekers OR job-providers.

Just like oslamacare..........It raises taxes on medical devices and Pelosi says it will lower the cost of medical devices and moron liberal believe it.....

tell us how raising the cost of a device will lower its selling price????

Raising taxes on the rich and business will only raise the price of everything you buy.....

No business ever pays one penny in taxes..........You the consumer pays it.....
So why do you want to raise the price of everything you buy???

Wow, guess you didn't get your prune juice this morning!

So I guess our beloved Republican President Eisenhower was moronic liberal"!!! LOL

The marginal tax rate was 91% back then and our economy was GREAT.

BTW It's OBAMNEYCARE!!!! Or did you forget that? If you don't pay taxes (only the consumers do) why are you complaining???? We can tax imports (like is says in the Constitution) and give tax breaks to companies that manufacture here.

Maybe once you'll have a bowel movement, you'll feel more clear-headed and make some sense. At the very least, you might have a more cheerful disposition.

You seem so bitter about President Obama being elected, TWICE.

Oops, I don't think so. You see, there's this little-known provision in Obamacare, that will push the top tax rates for most types of income ABOVE the Clinton tax levels in 2013 and after that. Besides which, this country isn't in the same shape that it was in during Clinton's presidency. The unemployment rate then was 5.2%, Imagine that.

Did he raise taxes on medical devices and then tell the population it will lower the price???
NOPE..........LOL

Back then there were not countries like Canada offering business a max tax rate of 15% if they move....
Mexico was not willing to give a 20 year deal for NO taxes if you hire enough nationals.....

The oslamacare tax taxes all medical devices no matter where they are made.....
