I agree she has a role to play. She could be second base.

Pelosi briefed on waterboarding in '02

April 23, 2009

Nancy Pelosi denies knowing U.S. officials used waterboarding — but GOP operatives are pointing to a 2007 Washington Post story which describes an hour-long 2002 briefing in which Pelosi was told about enhanced interrogation techniques in graphic detail.

Two unnamed officials told the paper that Pelosi, then a member of the Democratic minority, didn't raise substantial objections.

Joby Warrick and Dan Eggen wrote:

In September 2002, four members of Congress met in secret for a first look at a unique CIA program designed to wring vital information from reticent terrorism suspects in U.S. custody. For more than an hour, the bipartisan group, which included current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was given a virtual tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and the harsh techniques interrogators had devised to try to make their prisoners talk.

Among the techniques described, said two officials present, was waterboarding, a practice that years later would be condemned as torture by Democrats and some Republicans on Capitol Hill. But on that day, no objections were raised. Instead, at least two lawmakers in the room asked the CIA to push harder, two U.S. officials said.

UPDATE: A Pelosi spokesman passes along her response to the article when it first appeared, claiming that Pelosi's successor on the intel committee -- Yep, Jane Harman -- lodged a protest with the CIA when she learned waterboarding was in use.

Pelosi knew of waterboarding in 2003

Accusations of hypocrisy follow disclosure

By Carl Hulse
New York Times / May 15, 2009

WASHINGTON - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi acknowledged yesterday for the first time that she knew by early 2003 that the Central Intelligence Agency had subjected terror detainees to waterboarding but saw little recourse to challenge the practice except by achieving Democratic control of Congress and the White House.

Pelosi offered her account at a tense news conference as she was pressed for a full accounting of when she became aware that the Bush administration sanctioned harsh interrogation methods...

"I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels," Natural gas "is cheap, abundant and clean compared to fossil fuels," Pelosi stated.

Problem is Nancy Poo, natural gas IS a fossil fuel. Snort! Snort!

The democrats that support Pelosi are only proof they didn't listen to us and aren't about to, they want more of her. The party has no on else to offer. It's dying on the vine with all its free give aways on the backs on the working class.

Pelosi is a symbol of the corrupt practice and the progressive socialist-communist movement in the Congress and Obama administration. To get rid of a nest of rats it is necessary to get rid of all the rats. If there are any decent and patriotic democrats left in the House, they do not need Pelosi as the House minority leader. She should be sent home with the rest of the corrupt rodents in the Congress having no more power than any other citizen.

No. We need Nancy Pelosi as minority leader. And we need Uncle Harry as Majority leader. We never could have taken 65 Democrat seats without them. Voted out Alan Grayson. Now he can sell pencils on the corner. He is such a POS.

Speaking of "natural gas". Here's another $700,000 up in smoke.

UNH scientists to study cow burps -- November 4th, 2010
http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx...

University of New Hampshire and outside researchers are creating a computer model to help organic dairy farmers cut greenhouse gas emissions such as methane, because Beano probably isn't an option.

Nitrogen- and carbon-based greenhouse gases are produced via a complicated system at dairy farms that is affected by everything from the weather to the soil to the feed to cow burps, among other things.

"Cows emit most of their methane through belching, only a small fraction from flatulence," said the project's principal investigator, Ruth Varner of UNH's Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space.

UNH has been awarded a $700,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant to create a computer model that measures the amount of greenhouse gases an organic dairy farm produces and thus provide ways to cut those emissions.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Pelosi. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will the dems oust Clayburn the black man, or Pelosi, the woman, or Hoyer, the old white guy.

Dems have to elect her to see what she is all about.lol They obviously show they haven't learned a damn thing. Well, we all said they were idiots. There is no doubt dems don't care how much a liar or corrupt or just stupid their leaders are. Obama, pelosi, reid, barney, walters, boxer, the list goes on and on. No one in their right mind...(that wasn't mentally retarded in some way) would vote for these people. And twice would make you certifiably NUTS!

According to reports, John Boehner has enjoyed playing with matches since he was 6 years old. His colleagues in the House better be careful that he doesn't burn down the Capitol Building.
