You still seem to be operating under the presumption that The REPUBLICANS had hoped their plan would really pass.

As I said earlier: "Second, the plan, pass or fail, is mostly designed to appease the Tea Party who is hungry to destroy government even if it includes themselves. Republicans know that nothing close to the plan will pass but they can always use it as a badge of honor in 2012 to ask for money and votes."

If there ever was a spoken truth, then the speaker who said,"all liberals are liars.", leads the parade of truth tellers. Such blatant lying is expected of the Pompous Ass, who seems to have inherited the Le Jumbo Chair of Deceit and Deception, but the import, seemingly from Texas, has firmly established himself as a future Liar in Cheif.

If any of those Marathon victims are on Medicare, I feel MORE sorry for them. Maybe that is why there are so many people asking for donations to help them. They know with Medicare those people are going to have extreme Medical Bills when it's all over because you have limited coverage on Medicare, even if they can afford a supplement from a private insurance company, if Medicare does not cover something the supplement won't either. Read Medicare.Gov and Good Luck.

That is Ridiculous. If you are PAYING for private health insurance, which if you are 65 or over, is considered a supplement, it should cover ALL of the cost that the other insurance, Medicare does not cover. How does the Government sit by and let these insurance companies deny PAYING any claim unless Medicare does. Again Your PAYING for the 2nd insurance.
We need new employees in every area of our Government. Pawlenty and Ryan must have relatives, parents, or Aunts and Uncles, etc that are on Medicare. Do they want them to die because they can't get a certain medication, or test, or surgery procedure because they can't afford it and the 2nd insurance doesn't want to pay? isn't that why you buy insurance?

All these Politicians in this article missed the boat for brains. Medicare pertains to hard working Retired American Citizens who paid into Medicare. That dirty word "Entitlement" is Welfare = Free, which is actually also paid for by those same working class citizens even after retiring. You won't see Medicare returning the workers money they took out of their checks all those years. The Politicians would rather criticize those hard working retired Americans, than give them credit for doing it the right way. Seniors on Medicare deserve what they worked for, including quality and fair Healthcare.

No argument there! But look at the difference only a few years makes -- after all, it was the Republican Party who gave us Medicare Part D. This fabulously expensive plan was written by the pharmaceutical lobby, costing so much that the Bush White House deliberately misled fellow Republicans on the Hill about the total cost so they would still support it.
The same party now wants to end Medicare as we know it, and give seniors paltry vouchers that will more than triple the cost of coverage. What good is a plan with a $1000 deductible to someone who makes $8,000 per year?
At least the top 1% will be even richer!
The Pharmaceutical Companies are the Scum of the earth, and are in the pockets of the politicians who obviously want Medicare patients dead . The generics are the worst. The pharmacy makes more money on generics coming in from middle east countries where the company moves too, than American made brand which are to costly for most patients. Generics may have the main ingredient in them, but there are many different fillers that may cause side affects for patients and none of the insurance companies care, they still get your insurance payment every month. The insurance companies band with the pharmaceutical companies and make it almost impossible for patients to get brand even if they work excellent for the patient. Medicare patients are American Citizens who worked all their life and did it the right way. They may not be rich but they are just as important as the 1% to their families and loved ones.

You got that right, some from India seem to have a monopoly in the Twin Cities Pharmacies. They only carry generic drugs from other countries. Ugh, how safe can American consumers be with what is going on with all the terrorist groups wanting Americans dead and drugs coming in from these overseas countries those terrorists are in and out of without anyone knowing.

Instead, stop sending billions of American Seniors Tax Money to foreign countries. That money they paid in while working and still pay in along with money taken out of their Social Security Checks for Medicare should be enough. By the way, they also pay for a supplement. Every Politician (regardless of party) in this article is a jerk. The way they criticize Seniors on Medicare is vicious, and no American Citizen should even consider voting for any of them for any Political job.

Medicare pays nothing unless the Seniors goes out of network, which is the exact opposite of what Seniors believe. According to Medicare, any in network claims are only paid through the supplement insurance, whether it be BC/BS, or any of the supplements. So if those supplement insurance companies find a way to deny the claim and pay nothing, the Senior is literally screwed. Where the hell is President Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton and his party on that issue? Where does his affordable care act help in case's like that? We see tons of media about Medicare fraud. Isn't those supplement insurance companies who are paid every month by the Senior to cover their claims and then deny them, frauding the Senior? Will they be investigated? Is fraud against Seniors acceptable because they are a wealthy insurance company? What does Medicare do with the money they take out of every Seniors Social Security check if it isn't to pay for Medicare claims?
