Unemployment benefit extension? I thought the 100's of billion$ in the stimulus package would halt unemployment rises.

If sure it'll get much better when we throw more taxpayer money at it.

It looks like we'll need B. Hussein's extra jobless benefits now that the unemployment rate has his 10.2 percent. Total f'ing failure. He need to be impeached and all the Demthuglicrats in Congress recalled.

Next years Construction season looks like 1000s of workers will be sitting. We are hoping for a early Winter, so we will have startup work in the spring.
The Unemployment extensions will have to go in to 2010 and maybe 2011. If Cap and Trade gets passed, the Government should just leave people on Unemployment until the Country Collapses! Then we can all eat Rice and Fish....~>////*}>

Impeached? No. Just not re-elected.

I don't think being clueless and having horrible ideas on nearly every major issue is grounds for impeachment.

Plus, the Republicans need the false Messiah to stick around to help elect conservatives.

If the last (Republican!! or cleverly like you "Rethuglican") administration hadn't been *****ng a football and invading countries for the last 8 years the current administration wouldn't be trying to dig the country out of its grave. Without these measures this country would be at 30% unemployment and pulling troops out of the desert to man the soup kitchens.

The conservatives can dig this country's grave over eight years, lose power handily, and expect it to be cleaned up in one year? Keep dreaming. The term "conservative" is an oxymoron anyway when it comes to politics. It just means spend without taxing. Dig that deficit and shift funds until you're kicked out of the White House.

What measures? Obama has declared war on prosperity. Obama's purposeful destruction of the economy is an attempt to create dependence on the government. Any reasonable examination of his policies will lead you to this conclusion.

How can you complain about Bush's deficits, as you defend the biggest spender of all time? In his first year, Obama tripled Bush's largest annual deficit. Obama's failed stimulus has made things much, much worse. If the president gets Obamacare and cap-and-trade, the destruction of the country will be nearly complete--which is his plan.

Are you better off than you were 12 months ago?

Pull your head out of your arse and remember who was really in control of the country the last 2 years of Bush's term, idiots like you elected them. When you've remembered that, find out why these two names, Frank and Dodd have a large part to do with the current state the country is in and what party they belong to.

Spending the country into oblivion, running up a $13 trillion dollar plus deficit and taking over private business is not reducing the unemployment rate as we have seen today. If B. Hussein stays in office, the rate will hit 30%.

Here's yet another reason to impeach the idiot in the White House.

I'm surprised he didn't call the MP's at Ft. Hood stupid for shooting the scum that did the shooting.

Reading some of the arrogant comments from the employed on this blog makes me understand the depths to which these people will go to kick the unfortunate when they're down---all to make the bloggers feel good about themselves. Don't these neo-cons read the paper or tune into news programs other than Fox News? Most of the people that are unemployed, in bankrupcy, at food shelves either are the working poor---or middle class people (like the heartless conservatives here) who find themselves in desperate straits from the Bush recession. The jobless never imagined in a million years that this would be happening to them. Either these conservatives should gain more sympathy for the unemployed/underemployed---or we should pray that the arrogant neo-cons will soon have the opportunity for unemployment and can then become the targets of such disdain and hate.

Got my house through ACORN, got my money coming monthly in the mail. Life is good... think I'll take a trip back home to Mississippi on the Greyhound and tell some of my friends to move up here!

More welfare. Please keep it up. We need total world wide economic collapse. Then the parasites that depend on government, electricity, etc, can feed on each other. We need a few billion less people in the world.

You can post till your fingers bleed from typing dummy but Obama will be president for seven more looong years. The economic mess your favorite Bush left will be turned around in three more years just in time for Obama to be relected. Enjoy complaining all these loooong years as it's all you dumb consevatives have left to hold on to besides Fox News and Rush L. We don't care what you think as we are smarter than you and have the youth of the country on our side. We know how to steal an election if we have to.

Kind of funny how the Economy started to erode when nany pelosi and Steny Hoyer took over the House of Representatives and Harry Reid took over the Senate in 2006. Bush was forced to deal with these clowns if he wanted military appropriations. You cannot be that nieve.

Now, to make things worse, your failed President/Savior Barry Obama has doubled National Debt, passed the largest spending bill in the history of our Country that did not hold unemployment at 8.4 percent and wants to spend more than a trillion on HealthCare Take-Over that will create thousands of more to be unemployed. After Healthcare is Cap and Trade, another job killer. I think you need to be more concerned about the damage your failed President Obama is doing versus the past.

You are a professional comedian, really, I mean you are really funny. I love how you think Savior Barry Obama will turn things around in 3 years. Did you just pick 3 years or is there some mad-science behind your uninformed prognostication. Barry, since January of this year has double the National Debt, passed a failed Stimulus Bill that Obama claimed would hold unemployment at 8.4 percent - it is now 10.2 percent. Then Barry wants to spend another Trillion on HealthCare and then "Cap and Trade" job killer Bill. You are too funny. Please, do not quit your day job as a professional comedian - you damm dumb liberal.

There are a whole lot of folks in the Obama administration who need to go back to school to learn how to properly think things through. They are just letting their brains fall out with each new proposal. (W was not much better.)

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
