More from Last Week's E-Verify Mark-up

There are 12 comments on the www.numbersusa.com story from Sep 27, 2011, titled More from Last Week's E-Verify Mark-up. In it, www.numbersusa.com reports that:

During opening statements on September 15, Chairman Lamar Smith laid the ground work for prioritizing this legislation as a jobs bill necessary for economic recovery. He said, “We can open up millions of jobs for unemployed Americans” and continued to say that “E-Verify is a job killer, but only for illegal workers.”

It will be one of Chairman Lamar Smith's greatest legacies if he can get this through both houses of Congress, primarily because he's championing for the Americans in and environment made hostile by Obama and his administration.

Going in complete opposition to what Obama has been doing with regard to enabling the illegal invaders, even if it means circumventing the laws...just like pressure was put on Obama to make SCP mandatory, I hope Chairman Smith puts that same type pressure on Obama and his fellow congressmen.

E-verify is necessary to ensure only those qualified to work in America are doing so.

Isn't it pathetic how it's mainly the Democrats opposed to e-verify, but they blame the Republicans?

Funnier is that they claim it is greedy Republican businessmen that oppose e-verify. Just the mere suggestion that only Republicans are successful or greedy is a sham. There are plenty of well-to-do Democrats that are filthy rich.

Those that should really be required to use e-verify are the farmers who hire immigrants, but they seem to be exempt. Why?

I didn't post because I'm not real familiar w/ e-verify yet, but gave props because anything that is designed to impede the advancement of ILLEGALS is a good thing. I try to comment on things I'm familiar with as opposed to things I'm not.

If my giving props annoys you and you don't want mine, a msg saying exactly that will suffice. I give props based upon content of the issue by someone, incl yourself, not the individual themselves. Thank you for your concern though.

Now that I've read a "little" more about it, I'm having trouble rationalizing why anyone wouldn't want to use this. The only negative I see is if the ILLEGAL has submitted false info on one original application or the one being checked. And it allows them to continue working should a hick-up occurred or mistype been entered.

HOWEVER, lets remember that it is a program funded, blessed and maintained by the feds, the same group that intentionally fails to enforce the laws they swore an oath to enforce "...both foreign and domestic..."(in part) so that IMO casts a cloud over its integrity and ability to be manipulated were such desired.

Sadly, our government has proven themselves untrustworthy, hence my pessimism towards them and pretty much anything they promote or have their hands in.

I was just curious as to why you're not commenting. I thought the attack of the trolls I've come under lately had scared you away from any forum I'm on...which I thought was a shame, since you offer lots of good commentaries when you're not yanking some trolls chain that is. ;-)

I've got no problem receiving props from anyone (as they piss my trolls off), just as I have no problem giving props providing the comment is something I find worthy. ;-) Since you finally surfaced and began making comments, I found one. ;-)

BTW: My Topix PM service was disabled after the attack of the trolls went beyond the forums and was making its way to my inbox. Hence, you have my legit email addy & I've your silence. I'm assuming your still busy with all your projects. Ciao!

E-verify has a 50% fail rate but I'm sure somebody will show up claiming otherwise.

Regardless, if it stops some illegals then let it do its job.

Whatever you do, don't let Topix possess you. Its a social media outlet only, a place for people to discuss issues, argue points, and at times annoy those who richly deserve it. Otherwise, its meaningless and we all have other things to do that bring us much greater pleasure. Like my 6GKs for instance<G>, and my vast array of hobbies.

Do I detect a bit of a spat? Kiss & make up now. You two have been friends for how long now?

No one should spend so much time on Topix. I can't see how some of these people are on here for more than an hour or two. That's too much time sitting and not good.

6? Her one keeps us busy enough. How ya doing old man?:) I see she told you about all the hate mail we were getting. Now that was meaningless. Friends aren't.

No response required. Just thought I'd poke some fun at you two.

Lol, if I'd have known GKs were this much fun, I'd have had them first!

The e-verify sounds good on the surface, but the devil is in the details. I'm quite interested in why employers would be hesitant to use it, unless they have less that honorable hiring practices and already know the outcome...

the reason the open-border and illegal alien advocates hate e-verify is that it has over 95% initial effectiveness and any false mismatches can be taken care of in a matter of days while the employees are allowed to work while it gets resolved. the only ones that have any need to worry are those not legally allowed to work in the US.
