So why do Republicans hate art, the elderly and children? Hint: Same reason parents hate their children when they say, "No." We could just leave it at that, but this is too much fun.

Why is it so hard for the left to understand the words "we are bankrupt?" These dumbasses will not stop spending until the US economy looks like that of Greece.

Progressives are the most dishonest and ignorant group around. Thank Gawd they are shrinking due to Social Darwinism at 20% while Conservatives are growing to 40% of the population.

Death Panels and Sales Taxes

By (D) Paul Krugman

I said something deliberately provocative on This Week, so I think I’d better clarify what I meant (which I did on the show, but it can’t hurt to say it again.)

So, what I said is that the eventual resolution of the deficit problem both will and should rely on “death panels and sales taxes”. What I meant is that

(a) health care costs will have to be controlled, which will surely require having Medicare and Medicaid decide what they’re willing to pay for — not really death panels, of course, but consideration of medical effectiveness and, at some point, how much we’re willing to spend for extreme care

(b) we’ll need more revenue — several percent of GDP — which might most plausibly come from a value-added tax

And if we do those two things, we’re most of the way toward a sustainable budget.

By the way, I’ve said this before.

Now, you may declare that this is politically impossible. But medical costs must be controlled somehow, or nothing works.

US Government posts biggest monthly deficit ever

The federal government posted its largest monthly deficit in history in February at $223 billion, according to preliminary numbers the Congressional Budget Office released Monday morning.

That figure tops last February’s record of $220.9 billion, and marks the 29th straight month the government has run in the red — a modern record. The last time the federal government posted even a monthly surplus was September 2008, just before the financial collapse.

Last month’s federal deficit is nearly four times as large as the spending cuts House Republicans have passed in their spending bill, and is more than 30 times the size of Senate Democrats’ opening bid of $6 billion.

Senators are slated to vote this week on those two proposals — both of which are expected to fail — and then all sides will go back to the negotiating table to try to work out a final deal.

March Madness: U.S. Gov't Spent More Than Eight Times Its Monthly Revenue

( CNSNews.com )- The U.S. Treasury has released a final statement for the month of March that demonstrates that financial madness has gripped the federal government.

During the month, according to the Treasury, the federal government grossed $194 billion in tax revenue and paid out $65.898 billion in tax refunds (including $62.011 to individuals and $3.887 to businesses) thus netting $128.179 billion in tax revenue for March.

At the same time, the Treasury paid out a total of $1.1187 trillion. When the $65.898 billion in tax refunds is deducted from that, the Treasury paid a net of $1.0528 trillion in federal expenses for March.

That $1.0528 trillion in spending for March equaled 8.2 times the $128.179 in net federal tax revenue for the month.

It is helpful at this juncture to recall that Democrats failed to produce a budget last year, despite controlling the White House and both houses of the Congress.

Rep. Paul Ryan's ambitious proposal is to cut $5.8 trillion from projected spending through the 2021 fiscal year.

Although no one expects this 2012 budget to pass the Scumbag-0-crat-controlled Senate, it is a blueprint for the debate that must take place about what role government should play in Americans' lives.

We may not all agree on all its pieces — what's new?— but we can surely find our way to debate without summoning the devil Obamaa to the table.

Chuck Schumer Busted

For the benefit of Republicans napping, the New York senator informed reporters of his party's panicked strategy when, not realizing that said reporters had already dialed in to a conference call, he revealed his instructions from the Democratic caucus to always use the word “extreme” when describing Boehner and Republicans as boxed in by the tea party.

Did someone call for the adults? Please keep Schmucky out of the room.

Gamesmanship can be entertaining when the stakes are small But the economy is not child's play. As painful as the truth is, we can't continue to live beyond our means.

Every category of spending will have to take a hit and we'll have to figure out how to make the sucker float with a minimum of suffering. In the meantime, we might relax Democrat reflexes and give hysteria a rest.

47% will pay no federal income tax

An increasing number of households end up owing nothing in major federal taxes, but the situation may not be sustainable over the long run.

Paying No Taxes

The vast majority of households making up to $30,000 fall into the category, as do nearly half of all households making between $30,000 and $40,000.

As you move up the income scale the percentages drop.

Nearly 22% of those making between $50,000 and $75,000 end up with no federal income tax liability or negative liability as do 9% of households with incomes between $75,000 and $100,000.

But, but LL how can this possibly be? Aren't all we conservatives members of the Jim Jones Suicide, Infanticide and Geriatric Abandonment Society? Don't we all prefer our water to be awash in feces and chemical pollutants as the progressives acclaim. Are we content with clean air? Certaintly not. We demand more sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide in the air we breath, at least that is what the liberal EPA fanatics assure us we do. So I ask for clarification on your statement about Darwinism and the rising numbers of suicidal conservatives.

The poor may not pay any income tax but they pay other taxes just like everyone. Gas etc. And of course the things they call fees which are really taxes when they go to the goverment. Car reg, license fees, property tax, right down to a dog license. They do pay into the system. In order to take away their right to vote they would have to be tax exempt from everything else.

What kind of plutocratic bullshit is that? If anything typifies what's wrong with this country, it's that kind of skewed thinking.

I'm not one for name-calling, but when you make statements like that, you are truly making yourself out to be an unfair, uncaring, insensitive idiot.

In your world, do the poor even get to eat cake?

Bring Obama Back!

#18 Apr 10, 2011
This big victory by President Obama on the budget proves that he is the adult in a room full of juvenile-minded right-wingers.

Sadly, the right-wingers in congress look to hurt the middle class and the poor as they lay the brunt of the cuts off on their backs and lavish the wealthy with tax breaks and loopholes.

The President once again successfully beat back the extremist on the right; I for one am very thankful of that.

They also get federal tax credits, food stamps, S chip, federal housing supplements or rent subsidies, heating allowances, Medicaid, etc. The list is endless. The so called poor, when you figure the lack of taxes they pay, actually make out better than people making $50k per year. They need to have some skin in the game. They need to pay taxes right along with the rest of us.

Poor companies like GE, ADM, Microsoft, etc. need to have some skin in the game as well. Democrats have so screwed up the federal tax structure in the this country with their social engineering that we need to start over...a flat tax for federal income tax would be a start.
