It's time to ask what the future could bring in 2008 for the Kansas City area.

1. Mark Funkhouser will still be mayor next Dec. 31.

2. Wayne Cauthen will still be city manager next Dec. 31.

3. Kansas City voters will approve both a renewed sales tax for the bus system and a new sales tax for a light-rail plan.
