There are so many dogs that are not going to make it into loving homes, not due to the fact that there won't be room for them. It's because the breeders with 100's of "breeder stock" will have to weed out the ones that they feel won't continue to make them money and surrender them, or they will just euthanize them themselves.

There is good reason to believe that they "unwanted" stock will be euthanized because they have had no loving human contact. The only touch they get is from being pulled from a cage to go "do their business" and then put back in.

Many dogs that make it to rescue are euthanized because of socialization issues, or bad breeding that encouraged poor health or aggression. They simply cannot be adopted.

So please don't say that Prop B is the cause of this. It's the breeders who don't care that they cause the dogs to end up this way. They should be held accountable for the dogs that are euthanized because they are so unhealthy to save.

My dog is from an abused animal shelter... and he was cut up and burned and left on the side of a highway to die. He was brought to the shelter and they nursed him back to health.... I found him on line.... and adopted him. He hated humans but when he found we were not going to be cruel to him and that he did not have to fight for food, he became a different animal... today he is loyal, loveable and even likes other dogs.
It took about two years for him to trust us... but now we could not want a better behaved or loving dog. How can anyone keep any creature in a cage, never feeling the earth under their feet...only wire...not getting healthy food and the only human touch is one that will benifit the owner... Puppy mills are a place of torture and should be done away with PERIOD !!!!
