Congress might try raising taxes and removing the Bush tax cut for the rich as well as closing loopholes in the corporate tax world (as many very large corporations pay NO tax at all). If the Republicans are willing to make a few sacrifices that way perhaps the Democrats would begin to work on entitlement reform. BUT lets make one thing quite clear, Social Security is a fully funded program, not an entitlement. We've already paid for it. The Fed has borrowed from it almost indiscriminately for years and they should pay that money back. The only problem Social Security has is that it needs to be more careful of who borrows from it. Those who borrow and don't pay back should be barred from such borrowing in the future.
