Soon enough people will realize that animals do have rights. They have just as much a right to live free from pain, suffering, violence, and exploitation as any human being.

Animals do not, cannot, and never will have rights because they are incapable of understanding rights and the responsibilities which accompany rights. Animals are not the equals of humans and couldn't care one iota if they violate human rights. The very concept of "rights" is exclusively human. The only "rights" any person ever really has are the ones they are willing to die defending. So if you love your freedom (even your freedom to spew anti-human rhetoric) thank a veteran and never surrender your arms.

"The difference between a free man and a slave is the possession of arms."

Only those who wish to harm, or profit from an animals suffering will hold fast to the concept that they do not deserve to live free from pain, and suffering.

That would mean canines, felines, reptiles and birds of prey all fit your criteria.

Only those who have deluded themselves with the notion that animals are humans too will hold fast to the concept that animals have rights. No species lives free from pain and suffering.
