FLASH: THIS JUST IN FROM AUTOMOTIVE LIES AND NEWS.........AFTER CLOSELY LOOKING AT OBAMA'S AND MOST LIBERALS CLAIM THAT OBAMA SAVED THE AUTO INDUSTRY, IT MUST BE EXAMINED FOR WHAT REALLY HAPPENED..........

Obama did not save GM. They still owe the taxpayers 42 billion dollars and are in decline again today. They just closed the Volt line costing billions.

Obama didn't save FORD, HONDA, TOYOTA, NISSAN OR ANY OF THE OTHER CAR MAKERS.........therefore he didn't save the industry and his lie that is being projected through out the convention is just that.....another prevarications to try and put a glow on an already failed presidency.

American Presidents do NOT make those sorts of business decisions -- they wisely leave that to the business owners/management.

Part of GM's restructuring resulted in closing some plants -- better to close a few than ALL OF THEM!

Obama saved the AMERICAN auto industry -- composed of GM, Chrysler, and Ford. Ford required no assistance, so he "only" saved 2/3 of the industry. Losing 2 out of 3 would have had MAJOR impact on parts suppliers in-common!

The others you list elsewhere are foreign automakers with some production capacity in the US. Just as Honda opening a plant in America does NOT make Honda an "American" car -- Chrysler opening a plant in China does NOT make Chrysler a "Chinese" car!

stays out of business decisions? like solyndra?

the fact is GM went thru bankruptcy, though not by the laws on the books. how is it the govt was allowed to avoid the laws on the books? they subverted the process in order to benefit the UAW. now the taxpayers are still out some $30 billion, and the company may well go into another bankruptcy. they have shipped thousands of jobs to chinese affiliates. their numbers are way behind the other car manufacturers. it is totally dishonest to claim "saving" over a million jobs.

TRUCK SALES PICK UP SPEED......In August, they jumped to a 3-year high, all auto sales up from 2011......Detroit(AP)..After years of sputtering, sales of big pickups kicked into overdrive last month...Demand for fullsize pickups jumped 16%, helping make August the strongest month for US auto sales in three years. Overall auto sales increased 20 percent from a year earlier to nearly 1.3 million, according to Autodata Corp.....The rising demand shows that businesses need to replace aging truckes and feel more confident about the recovery in US housing-a market where pickups are essential for hauling equipment and crews...Ford, GM and Chrysler, the biggest makers in fullsize trucks, notched double-digit gains in overall sales, last month.....

Allow me to type slowly so that you can understand the words coming from my keyboard:

"American Presidents do NOT make those sorts of business decisions -- they wisely leave that to the business owners/management."

If you STILL cannot understand this simple concept -- please call a lifeline (if you have one).
