Back in 2002, Wisconsin voters had the chance to say "no" to both Doyle and his Republican opponent, by pulling the lever for Libertarian Ed Thompson (twice and current mayor of the city of Tomah). About 11% of those voters did, in a true grassroots uprising that shocked the State's political establishment and even earned the Wisconsin Libertarian Party a seat on the State elections commission. I think Thompson voters are probably feeling fairly well vindicated now. I wonder if there are any "Don't blame me, I voted for Ed" bumper stickers on Wisconsin cars...?
