Fine with me but let's get rid of those green energy subsidies also.

Damn straight, we need to stop subsidizing these greedheads and make them pay their own way. Typically, reTHUGlicans support government assistance for their corporate buddies, just as they oppose it for poor people and those in need. The Party of Greed, that's all they are.

Inhofe, probably the Senate's biggest idiot (as a paid shill of big energy, he's also a global-warming Denier), should shut his fat trap and leave office permanently. He's nothing but a crook.

Um, why would that make sense, idiot? Green energy isn't making massive profits and driving up the cost of everything, are they? LOL!

Why should we be giving tax breaks to the one industry that is making the most money and increasing these rediculous prices that is causing such a domino effect throught all other industries. it's because of the high fuel prices that shipping costs have sky rocketed. Ultimately who pays the bill, we do, and we sure don't get any tax breaks. They make billions, let them pay their fair share.

No reason to support another welfare utility either. If green energy can't make it on their own then they can't make it. No sense in subsidizing it.
I do not support the "party of greed" or the "party of need". Government shouldn't subsized either groups. The government caters to supposely "poor" folks to much and that is why so many "poor" folks want to come here. Can't afford it

All subsidies need to end. That includes those for all corporations and individuals. Oil companies don't need to be subsidized nor does ethanol. Keep in mind its the conservatives who keep the ethanol program in place given its tied to corn. Farm subsidies are the darling of conservatives.

All the "green" initiatives need to end too. Let them stand on their own two feet or die.

If all the subsidies and loopholes were ended then our tax rate could be kept minimal too. America is broke, its time to get serious about ending favoritism to special interests.

Green energy may not be making huge profits here, but it is generating huge profits for overseas companies that produce the equipment. It's driving prices up by increasing demand for some commodities, and sucking even more money out of our pockets through tax subsidies for products that don't work as well as those they are supposed to replace.

Completely stupid. We need alternate forms of energy so that we can stop polluting and end dependence on foreign oil. No sense in being shortsighted and ignoring innovation, either - though that seems to be the tea bag ger idea...

Another huge pile of unsupported manure. Subsidies can help bring manufacturing here and keep it here, or create it here. We can afford that if we stop handing out money to greedy oil companies.

We have alternate forms now. The only reason we are dependent on foreign oil is because the democrats want it that way. Expecting "innovation" to fund itself isn't shortsighted. The company that developes the product will be the one who will profit, so there is no use in spending tax dollars to develope.

If thats true then why didn't it change when the Republicans had full control of Congress and the White House a few years back?

Both parties cater to big business, different parties, different businesses. It seems odd that the senate dems want to punish big oil at the same time they give to GE. Neither party can be trusted.

It's foolish to blame it on only one party, and DOUBLY foolish to blame it only on Democrats. Republicans are the party of corporate welfare and big business, and the only ones funding innovation are the Democrats. And no, innovation doesn't fund itself.
