Let's all feel bad for the poor oil companies who might finally be losing the "special" tax considerations and loopholes they bought through the years from their pet Republican Congressmen. The same bozo's that are now deeming any oil rig in any situation "safe", if not approved in 60 days. Time to vote out your local scumbag Right Wingers you fools, while we still "maybe" have a Gulf of Mexico and an Atlantic Seaboard.

It is amazing how hard it is for liberals to comprehend that corporations do not pay taxes, consumers do.

You are right, it is very difficult for me to understand how we can give tax breaks to corporations who don't pay taxes.

ok...we needs some serious reductions in oil/gas prices. Let's do BOTH parties ideas:

1.) Reinstate off shore drilling
2.) Roll back the tax deductions for oil companies.

If each party thinks their idea will work, then why not do both? For Democrats to refuse the offshore drilling and then complain about Republicans blocking the tax increases is hypocritical and selfish...just like the Republicans wanting offshore drilling and no increase in taxes.

Its called compromise and working together. Why not try it?

Rush the U S A to third world status, let the oil company drill. This no brainer. All domestic oil go to world market, where Americans will compete with, china,Idia Japan and other world countrys for gasoline.American will get another Gulf oil DEAD ZONE.

Tax breaks to the oil companies have'nt kept the price of gas down so what are they talking about, News reports say u.s. oil companies are raking in record profits so if they were paying as much as they claim they are then they would'nt be making record profits and how much are they paying for oil they extact from u.s. territory, OOPS GADAFFI FARTED RAISE THE PRICES !

They do pay taxes. The proposal is to reduce or eliminate some of the deductions and credits that they are allowed to take.
