You'll never get rid of pork. The Rush Limpballs will try to play politics and blame another party, but in truth the American people want this and the politicians are willing to oblige.

My home town ten miles away just got 815,000 dollars for a viewing platform to watch the trains. Of course anyone can watch the trains sitting in their car as the gate comes down and you have to wait 10 minutes. Their defense is that people around the world will want to come here and watch trains. I think they are crazy.

Lotta whining over sums of money equal to the costs of a day here and a day there fighting for nothing in Iraq. I say spend the money at home, anywhere. Money spent here stays here.

REGARDLESS of whatever else is happening on the planet, there is SOMETHING WRONG in the US of A with our 'good Christian values' when we cannot take care of our children AND our elderly. Corporate greed has run amok. The White House and the Congress are NO LONGER doing the WILL of the PEOPLE, but filling their pockets and the public be damned. Once they get elected they all turn into VERMIN worthy of our disdain. Closet bathroom queers masquerading as respectable folk, thieving Presidential aides, pathological liars as Attorney Generals? My, my. What a system we have wrought. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good BLIGHT.
What we need is a good revolution.
This will all change in January 2009.

The porkers are hillary, feinstein, boxer, kennedy, polosi and the rest of the liberal radical activists.

To believe that all the pork is on the account of one party is to be truly blind. They are ALL accountable.

Dear Kool Aid,
You cannot fire them. You vote them out. However, that doesn't address the bigger issue. To wit, every Congressperson is guaranteed a life time pension, a pension that is tied to COLA.

Don't bother responding to the Kool-Aid drinker ... She (he) just blathers on and on without any proof .. She (he) will never respond to your comments ... probably a 59 year old fat old guy with a beer gut and beard who found a cute picture on the internet to put in his bio ...

Nah. Too many whores still left on the hill. The only way would be to make them all run at the same time for reelection based on their RECORDS.
We have twice as many paid lobbyists in DC than we do people in government. THAT is the problem. The average person is IGNORED. Unfortunately, the best days of the US of A are behind us.

Just talked with some of my kin today. It was said that the biggest mistake our founding fathers MADE was to allow a group of people to make laws for the whole country.

Guess they figured that that group would be as honest as they were.

You may find the new Project Sunlight in New York State; You may search the legislation by:

Bills,
Members items,
Elected Officials,
Lobbyists,
Map,
or Data Bases.

it is quite interesting, and comprehensive, once you find your way around. We should have something similar in Congress, and the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007 (HLOGA) should go a long way.

Despite the ravings of the lying neo-conservatives, this Democratic Congress cut member items by over 25%, and many (not all) of them are useful or important to the local communities.

I'd like to see member items balance our federal spending, so that states that get a TON of FEDERAL PORK,(like NEW MEXICO,) get no member items; and states that get very little Federal money back (like Connecticut) get HUGE member items.
