1963It is truly wonderful that John Glenn is donating all of these documents. But, I wonder will any of the documents reveal how he went from a net worth of $50,000 in 1972 to multi-millionaire status when he retired from "public service" in 1998???

Or will he be sending over any documentation concerning his acceptance of a $200,000 bribe in the Keating 5 scandal???

Or, will he be sending over the documents for unpaid bills when he stiffed a Columbus printer for $1 million in his failed Presidential run in 1984 and forced that small businessman out of business???

Is it too much to ask for full documentation as we remember this "National Hero" ???

I wonder if he also donated the documentation for all the written off bad loans that local banks had to make after his failed bid for president?

If you feel so strongly about it, go look. That's the point of preserving the papers. What's not preserved might be just as significant as what is.

And while you are there, ask why these papers are going to OSU instead of to the Ohio Historical Society.

When John Glenn was catapulted into fame with his "around the world in 80 minutes" space flight, we never imagined that we would have to endure him for decades to come.

We sure paid a steep price for that space flight - he has been a zit on the rear-end of society for a long, long time.

When he used a commencement speech at OSU in 1984 to criticize Ronald Reagan, he again displayed what a pathetic, arrogant, petty person he is. He obviously drank every last drop of Kool-Aid the media served up on his behalf over the years.

What has any politician ever done that is so great it needs to be preserved? I guess now we will have it in writing of how worthless they all have been.
