The problem is Democrats hold the cities, and Republicans hold the suburbs. Money and educated are in the suburbs, not the cities.

It will take big money, and a change in racist attitude by the blacks to fix the big 8 cities in Ohio. I don't think the whites in the suburbs have the will or want to spend their money to fix the cities because they see all the waste of money cities like Akron spend, and things are only getting worse.

I'm not exactly sure how to do that with all the crime, drugs, one parent families, gang bangers, and job losses in the big 8 cities in Ohio.

Big issues - too few solutions !!!

Just what we need, more "strategy" by the Democrats to get more money for the have nots. They want to find more ways to buy votes and take more control of our lives. Get real...less government, less redistribution of wealth...I would like at least half my paycheck so I can make a living too. NO ONE helped me along the way...I had to do it by myself...that's reality...Not government support..that's the American way...why are we spreading that message in the big cities???

the repugnicans crack me up. a 1% loss (Bush v Gore) is a mandate, yet an 8% victory is not a mandate. LOL gotta love how level headed these repugnicans are, they talk out of both sides of their mouth at once.

vote kucinich!

I have been a republican because the party used to stand for something. Invading Iraq without cause was the beginning of the end. We should have learned from the democrats when they illegally invaded Vietnam. Now we have county party chairmen who are bisexual and presidential candidates who are pro-choice. There's nothing left of the republican party. It looks nothing like the republican party of the 1980s. The democrats are a just bunch of organized hedonists. The republicans are now just a bunch of unorganized hedonists.

I have to disagree with most of you.

The labels Democrat and Republican are becoming increasingly meaningless as both parties cater to fringe elements.

Many voters who choose to use their brains rather than blindly follow the party rhetoric are basically ignoring the party affiliation and concentrating on the individual candidate and his/her personal record.

So, before either party begins the self-congratulation dance, they should find out if Canton voters were voting for a political party or if they were voting for change.

DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICAN, WHO CARES? IF YOUR READ PLATO'S REPUBLIC,PLATO WRITES 'FOR WHICH POLITICAL SYSTEM IS THE BEST LET THE FOOLS ARGUE ABOUT IT'. IF THE LEADERS OF THE COUNTRY CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THEY WILL SOME GOOD. GRANMA ALWAYS SAID THE STORY OF ROBINHOOD. ECONOMICS DON'T GET ANY SIMPLER THAN THAT.NO MATTER WHO HAS THE GOVERNMENT, WEALTH WILL ALWAYS GO THE RICH. SO, TAX THE RICH, GIVE MONEY TO THE DRUNKS AND DRUG ADDICTS WHO WILL SPEND IT SO BAR OWNER WIILL MAKE MONEY, THE DRUG DEALER WILL MAKE MONEY AND THE FUNERAL HOME WILL MAKE MONEY WHEN THOSE CRACK HEADS DIE. PROBLEM SOLVED.

good. keep home schooling your whelplings and let those with brains go to kent. socialism in its pure form is better for the masses than this corrupted version of capitalism we have now. historically, all forms of government are good "on paper" but once you imbue them with the fallacies of the human race they fail miserably. additionally, if socialism is the dominant ideology when i reach old age, at least i'll be taken care of...better than the boomers can say now, what with social security becoming a thing of the past and all...see ya in the gutters

I think that the win for Healey, was not so much a vote for him as it was a vote against Republicans, especially George Bush.
