Some aldermen are saying "no thanks" to Mayor Rahm Emanuel's offer of free Sunday parking when it comes to their commercial districts for fear it would hurt businesses that rely on street parking for their customers.

Paying for parking in the city encourages people to do their shopping out in the suburbs where free parking is available.

Free parking would hurt the predatory towing companies that infect chicago! I'll bet they make some heavy political contributions.
