Dear Chicago tax payers.
FCK YOU. The thought that someone would even consider evaluating a teacher for anything is crazy talk. And while we're are it, give us another 16% raise, our current average of $60/hr plus full benefits is chicken shit. We intend to be the highest paid, lowest performing school system in the country and there is not one fcking thing you can do about it.
The teachers union.
ps - we only did this for the poor children.
Jealous because you can't get similar treatment on YOUR job, Rusty? Upset because striking convenience store clerks don't get the same attention as striking teachers?
Tax payers don't mind paying the mayor's upscale lifestyle, do they? They don't mind paying a hefty sum for the rest of the government staff of do-nothings. How come they only bitch when it comes to teachers, police officers and fire fighters? The people who actually WORK for a living instead of sitting in a fancy office twirling a pencil?
Teachers are professionals who deserve a decent salary for their years of overpriced college education. They deserve a decent salary for babysitting rooms filled with unruly little brats (rich AND poor) and trying to get enough information into their heads that they MIGHT, just might, be able to get a job...if they are ever any left.
I do believe teachers get too much time off, but hey, I'm not jealous. I could have become a teacher and had my summers off; however, I know I couldn't do their job. I'd smack some smartass kid in the mouth and get fired.
Stop being jealous of what other Americans get. If you want to be jealous, be envious of the 3 billion dollars a year going to Israel or the 5 billion to Egypt and on and on. All paid for courtesy of the American tax payer. Just imagine how much education could be improved with that kind of money.
