Sanders backs Dean for HHS post

Full story: thehill.com

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the latest lawmaker to back Howard Dean, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, for secretary of Health and Human Services. In a letter to President Obama that was released on Sunday, Sanders backed Dean, the former Vermont governor and physician, as someone who is "eminently qualified" to reform healthcare after Obama's first choice, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), withdrew his nomination last week.

Dean was my first choice for HHS. A medical doctor who has dealt with the real world problems of patients who can't afford health care. YAY!

As to the "Dean scream," if you were paying attention you would have known that it was later proven his "scream" was amplified by the media by erasing the background crowd noise and that people present could barely hear him. This was an excellent example of how the media sabotages candidates they don't like.

Hey yeah , great , put him in.

The two most " loose cannons " in the Dem party Biden and Dean will be gift to the GOP.

All the GOP will have to do is sit back eat some popcorn and enjoy the Frick n' Frat show.

I doubt if Howard Dean is even on the new WH Christmas card list.

Oh gee, let's see. A man who does a little scream now and then isn't as bad to me as a guy caught with oxycontin and illegal prescription drugs. Depends on a how you look at it, I guess. Leave Howard Dean alone.

I believe this too. It's sad how the media controls the news and what goes on in this country. Sad.

Sorry but going to college for it and actually working as a physician for years is an entirely different experience.

Howard "I have a Scream" Dean graduated in 1978 and was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1982.

That means he was basically running for Politcal office right out of college. What a rat.

Reminds me of Joe Biden.

He did practice medicine for a few years and his wife is still practicing medicine. Don't you remember all the flack she got for not abandoning her patients to follow him on the campaign trail?

In 2003 Bush took a much harder hit doing the same thing. The main difference was that with Bush, we heard an echo.

Dean would actually get things done. His 50 state strategy worked beautifully and he should be rewarded with the second worst job in the world after Obama's: reforming the dumbest, most inefficient, ineffective, over-priced health 'care' system in the civilized world.

Health 'care' is nearly 20% of GDP, rising much faster than the rate of inflation. Health insurance premiums have doubled under Bush while quality of care has declined. It is a mess and needs to become single-payer nationalized.

If you think 'free market'(corruption) banking is a disaster just wait... the next bubble disaster is health care.

Obama threw half of the F&F duo under the bus last night.

That be the " B " half of the F&F show.

Too bad somebody didn't quote Joe about taxes and patriotism pertaining to Os cabinet.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
