Full story: www.findingdulcinea.com

Can't you just as easily turn the sound off? Like a ring tone?

This is dumb. It's not like someone's gonna say something if they hear a click anyway.

Most digital cameras are basically the size of cell phones now and relatively quiet, so I don't see how this would stop this sort of thing.
Thank You

After reading the article I would want to know if someone is taking "unnatural" photos of my children but then again the actors and the photographers have been fighting this war for a long time. When they link Princess Diana (UK) to the cause and effect, not to mention child molestors or the photography of illegal aliens, then it sounds like a case for the ACLU. This is like saying that gun manufacturers are responsible for gun crimes. Cell phone manufacturers are responsible for the pictures taken? Years ago when we developed film (110 or 35mm) at the drug store someone always saw what we took and if it was inappropriate a flag went up. Today with our digitals and home computers and printers - we can take 200 pictures and download-print-copy and no one is the wiser. If the camera goes "ding!" then who will hear it?
If a tree falls with a crash in the forest and there is not a living creature around to hear it - did the tree make a sound? On the other hand, knowing that my camera will now make a loud "ding", do you think I will take a picture of the rapist?..the bank robber?...the illegal aliens standing in a group?....the drug dealer?... the hit and run driver?.....or the woman beating her child?...... and if I do take the picture and the offender sees me and creates a life threatening situation for me and/or my family, do you think I will get involved and try to be part of the solution?....or do you think out of fear that I will become apathetic and become part of the problem?
Amen and TY!

Is the barely audible sound of a click really going to deter a potential perv? Really?

Please -- a little click is suppose to help things? I don't think so.

Boys in my school tape cameras on their shoes and put their feet right under girls skirts! It's disgusting, especially because many girls don't wear underwear today.

I understand the sentiment, but I don't think the law will accomplish the goals the legislators have.

No, the phones would be made so that you could not switch off the ring tone.

I believe there should be some sort of regulation regarding the the taking of photos via cell phones, to curb the frenzy behavior. Some people aren't waiting for 'Big Brother' to regulate. A year or two ago, an off duty police officer was at an amusement water-park in California, when a perp quickly snapped of a few pics of the officers three-year-old daughter, using his cell phone camera. The officer promptly, took decisive action and confiscated the 'Cell Phone', deleted the images of his child, and beat the hell out of the perp. In lieu of his actions, his only recourse (because its not a crime to take the photos), would have been to file a complaint with the City Attorney. People should be made to know, that its not 'Ok' to point and click, at their hearts desire.

Boys are planting these cell cameras on the floor, and deliberately taking pictures up girls skirts. Girls are really upset about this because many teen girls do not wear panties today. Boys have become total perverts, and they always send these pictures to all of their friends and even post them on the internet!
