How many other lives did he jeopardize in is zeal to "inform" his constituents? As a ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, violating common security measures are inexcusable.

I hope the media doesn't make a big thing out of this incident. Pete is a good congressman. I am sure this kind of thing will never happen again. I am hoping Pete will run for governor here in Michigan. No harm was done.

How about when Pete first ran, he promised to limit himself to serving 6 years in Congress. Then after 6 years, he said he really meant 6 terms. Then afterhe served 6 terms, he said he really didn't mean any of these promises at all, because "in this post-9/11 era" his service was needed more than ever.

Pete Hoekstra is not only a hypocritical liar, he is very self-absorbed and has become everything he ran against. I would vote for any other Republican over Pete Hoekstra.

Nice whitewash on 11pm news about Hoekstra "Twitters"
. For security reasons everyone was told not to contact anyone but Hoekstra even twittered the itinerary.

He is not very intelligent if he is willing to put his life and anyone traveling with him in danger to stay connected. What a TWIT!! He is NOT the best choice for governor or Michigan. We don't need someone that is all about themselves and has a blatant disregard for safety.

How did you get away with using liar and republican in the same paragraph? The non kool-aid dinkers know that all republicans are liars. It is just here in West Michigan to many people have GOP blinders on, and they keep drinking that "truth serum"

You know what-some things do change once you get in office and have a better idea of the job and what good you can do with it-and the truth is we did need him more than ever after 9/11. I follow politics very closely and have visited his office in Washington when on vac. there and gotten a tour. I've followed his voting record and comments/interviews and see how passionately he does what's right for the people he represents, not just going along with the Washington crowd. He would be a welcome change in the Governor's chair. Also "Vander"-are you even from Michigan-it says California under your posting name?

He knocked Guy VanderJagt out in the primary by accusing him of being there too long and then changed his mind and said being there a long time is good. Typical GOP, willing to fabricate to get where they want. I could not believe some GOP in the district did not take advantage of this and knock him off but no one did it.

It was news when the N.Y. Times exposed the Bush/Cheney secret and illgal wire tapping program so why isn't it news when Hoekstra blows the cover on a secret trip to Iraq.

He risked the lives of himself and others for the sake of some personal PR. This is not clear thinking and certainly not behavior I expect from the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee.
