Listen, there wasn't much on that tape. And, if there was i'm sure it wasn't relevant to the cases at hand.
The CIA has good reason to destroy any tape that identifies CIA agents. Polititions would get a copy of the tape and the release it for political gain, as they did with Valerie Plame! It is no wonder the CIA does not trust polititions when it comes to the identification of CIA agents.

I think the CIA has the tech know-how to cover the image of the agents and still let the actions on the tape to be seen.
Many programs that scramble images can be un-scrambled. The CIA knows this better then anyone else.

It isn't a matter of playing fair. Since September 11, 2001, the USA has been on a spiraling course towards dictatorship......
You wouldn't know a dictatorship if it hit you in the face with a 4 x 4.

She was not just a pencil pusher, that was her cover. Every agent and contact she met with for the last 20 years was put in danger by her identity being published! The CIA is not going to let that happen again. Everyone involved in leaking and publishing her ID should have been sent to prison for many years.

Seems like what we call those that we torture (POWs, ECs ...) shouldn't matter. it's not about legal rights; it's about HUMAN rights! America has followed "innocent until proven guilty" from the start, but not now it seems.
The rest of the world hates us because we preach how all other nations should protect human rights and then we turn around and torture and detain people from other countries based on the thinnest threads of fact (at best).
Sure, we left people in SE Asia in the 70s and maybe we should have due to an illegal war act. But did that given them the right to torture the US captives? No. And the fact that some Saudis (not Afghans or Iraqis) attacked us on 9/11 doesn't give us the right to forgo the basics of human rights this country has fought so hard for so long to maintain and spread around the world.
It's shameful how we act and it needs to be stopped!
Well said, most people on the right that approve of torture just don't understand America's place in the world. We have away stood for Freedom and Justice much to the dismay of the Republicians and the Neo-Cons. They hate freedom and the law protecting people, they enjoy using the law as a club to keep people down. The world saw how the America used its Freedoms and Justice to build itself up, women, blacks and even gay folks used the rights endowed to them by their creators to lift themselves up. That got to be too much for the GOP, they grew strong dividing America and now things have turned around, our rights are under attack. Hopefully things will change in the next election, Truth, Justice will agian be the American way and the right will be throw into the dust bin of history.

I'll believe this is a real independent investigation when I see the results.

Wexler, Gutierrez, and Tammy(the socialist) Baldwin, now there's a crew. All three of these socialists would give us a nanny state, cradle to grave giverment. Such a deal I got for you. I prefer to keep my money, in my pocket, thank you. The Vice President scares them, because he wants accountability of the terrorists.
I notice people on this thread, believe in polls. A poll never elected any official. Clinton's whole Presidency was run on polls. Now we are to believe Hil-Bily will run this country, better. Fat chance,'Ol Hil hasn't run anything, was a carpetbagger in New York, and has a guy who can't keep his pants buttoned for a husband. What a guy.

Responding to another's question or argument by saying "if you don't like it leave" is neither an answer nor a good argument.
That response simply reveals the weakness of the respondent ability, intellectually or otherwise, to argue their premise or put forth a viable solution.

Nathaniel is right on. Bush and his cronies (mostly the cronies because Bush is a moron), are creating a nation of fear and we are becoming the sheep. Incapable of seeing the truth and allowing your rights to be picked away piece by piece. This administration is as corrupt as they come. Let's not be fooled people. I'm not in support of terrorism and those need to be stopped but the actions we're taking are not accomplishing that. We've been in Iraq how many years now? What for? I still don't know. Go find Osama if you're truly interested in striking at the core. The US was once a nation to be respected now it's an embarrassment with our current leadership. And no political party is doing it any service right now. They're more interested in serving their own pocket books. Beware and pay attention to your civil liberties. Stand up for your rights.
