Congress would be much improved by the addition of a scientist.

Art Robinson is a very odd and eccentric scientist congress could do without.

But Congress would continue to do poorly without him. He is certainly a better scientist than Susan Sarandon and all of the other ignorant celebrities that Congress consults on scientific subjects.

Art is an intelligent and good man that will help balance our Congress and preserve our Constitution and restore our ecomomy. He is running agaist Peter Defazio who is a traitor.

I went to a town hall meeting of Robinson's. I'm a scientist, too. He's a Tea Party extremist, though, who represents the barest fraction of scientists. He is a global warming doubter, a creationist, and a pro-nuclear energy advocate who actually advocates the dumping of nuclear waste in the ocean. He says Three Mile Island wasn't such a big deal, and that the catastrophe of Cherynobl was overblown. He believes that oil spills, like the one in the gulf, *benefit* ocean life. He is the founder and current director of an obscure scientific institute which, if you visit its website, is more about promoting his homeschooling program and anti-global warming rant that about collecting data of any sort. He was a student of nobel laureate Linus Pauling and helped lead Pauling's institute for a while, but was fired after a scandal. His non-scientific political views are just as shocking (immigration, social security, you name it). It's scary to think he is backed by any political party.

I agree with you. I worked as a lab technician at Caltech where I knew a fair share of scientists. This guy is a lonney-tic. I am registering to vote just to make sure I vote for DeFazio.
Even If I was a republican, I'd run away from this nut case.
Vote for anyone else.

I am thrilled that Art Robinson is running for Congress. Peter DeFazio I heard the other day on the radion and he sounded arrogant and borderline rude to the interviewer. Oregon is in really bad shape and we need a solid conservative that will honor the Constitution and who believes in freedom and believes in America. My vote is for Art Robinson. Oregon needs positive change.

I am supporting Art Robinson for congress because it's time for the 12 term Defeat of Defazio. A career politician who has shut down logging, mining, drilling, power generation, manufacturing and research. The only thing Defraudusall supports is taking money from every other state to support the timber payments plan to compensate for the jobs he forced out of Oregon. Not to mention Defraudusall is a wine drinking, cheese eating surrender monkey.

Art Robinson’s ideas are bad for the 4th District, and the nation.

Robinson opposes government regulations (which he calls “meddling”), including any regulation of Wall Street or big Oil, who he says aren’t responsible for our recession or the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
Pete DeFazio opposed bailouts of Wall Street. He vigorously supports regulations to prevent another meltdown, and policies to protect our environment while ensuring sustainable resources.

Robinson opposes public schools. He's said and written that he'd abolish Federal and State Departments of Education, fire all the teachers, shut down the schools...then start over...somehow...while he’s raking in the bucks from selling his home schooling curriculum.
DeFazio supports public schools, teachers and higher education...and has personally funded over 190 scholarships to our Community Colleges for displaced Oregon workers.

Robinson opposes Social Security. He’d turn it over to the financial wizards who dragged down millions of American’s 401k retirement plans by 30 to 50 percent.
DeFazio wants to strengthen Social Security, by having higher income earners pay in their full share. DeFazio knows Social Security helps keep Seniors, widowed mothers and the disabled out of poverty.

Robinson says he’d abolish Medicare and Medicaid. He says private charities and “the free market” will take care of us.
DeFazio supports laws favoring people who need medical care over insurance companies higher profits.

However, it's getting more difficult to find Robinson's more radical writings and statements, because he's changed the info on his campaign website, apparently trying to appear more moderate and reasonable than he actually is.

You may come to the same conclusion I did...that Art Robinson doesn’t have the ideas or the temperament for the job.

please see that you tell the truth. What kind of scientist are you? with all the news of the science behind globle warming having been falsified it is no wonder that he doubts the people falsifing scientific data. art robinson is a good man with a well grounded "show me" approach to science. something more sheeple in the feild of environmental science could probly benifit from.

Just saw this Robinson guy on Rachel Maddow show. What a bully. Also a denier of his own views. He said it is a professor at the UofO. I guess there is academic freedom, because if this guy is qualified to teach then anybody is.

Wow, just saw Robinson on Maddow. He's a guy Oregon and the entire nation can do without. He is nasty tempered, unable to defend his own positions published in his own newsletter/papers, he refused to state his positions now given opportunity to answer, and I don't know what he really stands for aside from opening Oregon's wilderness and protected lands to "business". So he wants to trash your state, apparently thinks radiation is beneficial to our health, and thinks HIV/Aids is a "conspiracy". A vote for Robinson is a vote for a 60 year jump back in time. Maybe he wrote about time travel, too..... I hope for your sakes he loses huge.

Wow, is right! This man cannot have a reasonable exchange and people from Oregon want him to represent them in congress?! Well, get him on Fox News so he can speak in any way he would like, and let the world see him in any light he would like... just so they see him and know what type of man that they would be getting, that we all would be getting. Is this what the Tea Party members really want? Yeah, Wow.

Art Robinson is dangerous, deceitful, and deluded. Like Todd Akin, he advocates for a ban on all abortion; no exceptions--even in the case of rape. He likewise believes Akin's parroted nonsense about magic lady-parts preventing pregnancy in cases of rape.(Page 114 of Art's book, Common Sense in 2012: "There are very few children conceived through rape.")
Most of Art's stark-raving-mad notions used to be available on the internet, but he has managed to scrub most of them. He's an HIV/AIDS denialist, global warming denialist, creationist, and advocates adding radioactive waste to our drinking water. He denies saying and writing lots of stuff that is easily documented.
