Oh really. Well thank you for clearing that up. Now George Bush isn't responsible for Katrina.

Liberals. They are a strange creature.

Where were you during Katrina? Under a rock? Crawl back under it. Or at least read.

NOAA called Monkeyboybush and told him Katrina was a cat 4. What did he do? Nothing. AFter it hit, what did he do? Nothing.

No one called Obama to tell him that because this hurricane was a cat 1.

What did Bush do? The same thing half monkeyman is doing. Nothing.

Hurricane Irene will just be another excuse that Obama can add to his growing list of “bad luck” that he uses to explain our economic failures.

Wholemonkeymanbush is the worst president in American history. Save your ignorant, illterate racist comments for your teabagger friends.

Sorry ,honey. President obama did his job while bush let 1800 people die in New Orleans. Thanks to the governors pre-planning on the east coast, that is a lesson learned by bush's ineptitude.

Now what was it that Bush should have done?

I think more blacks died than that. They became fish food.

Was there any looting reported during Irene?

Were the black shooting at the rescue workers?

I just wanted to thank Charlie Crist for praying the storm to the Eastern seaboard, instead of FL where it would have only done minor damage.

No, but the stupid N.O. white cops who thought no one was watching, shot a couple of innocent black guys in the back when they were SUPPOSED to be helping victims of Katrina. Those cops are in prison now. Sucks to be stupid and white as the tea party demonstrates on a daily basis as do racists everywhere as well.

Give it up, kweefff breath. The governor of Louisiana and the chocolate city mayor Nagin failed the people of N.O. to heed warning and evacuate those in harms way. Get educated, queenie.

So when Bush says that he f-ed up, you say you know better? The guy admitted he could have done more. I guess only us "educated people" read books while people like you just spew your insults on topix and offer nothing of substance.

Nagin is an idiot. I would never dispute that, but ONLY the Governor has the power to order the National Guard well in advance, not to mention failing to use hundreds of school bus's that sat idle which could have moved a majority of the people out of harms way. Lots of mistakes but "the buck stops here", here being the POTUS. Just add it to the very long list of bush f-ups.

Actually I put all the blame on C Ray Nagin.
His decision to open the Superdome and Convention Center with NO provisions, NO security, NO plan, NO Red Cross support, and no idea how many people would come is the reason so many died there.
Many People along the Gulf Coast have always "ridden the Storm out" Some have died from it, some made it. But until then all of the people knew there would be absolutely no help for them until well after the storm.

Sorry, but a cat 4 should have been taken seriously by the Gov as well and was not. Although opening the superdome was a disaster, that's not where the 1800 people who lost their lives, died. They died in the surge and flooding that followed.

Yup. This was a debacle.

This indicates that public officials were aware of and willing to accept significant risk to hundreds of thousands of residents unable to evacuate because they lacked transportation. The little effort that was made to assist non-drivers was careless and incompetent. Public officials provided little guidance or assistance to people who lacked automobiles. The city established pickup locations where city buses were to take people to emergency shelters, but the service was unreliable. Transit dependent people were directed to the Superdome, although it had insufficient water, food, medical care and security. This lead to a medical and humanitarian crisis.

The official response, when it came, was slow and confused, leaving tens of thousands of people without food, water, medical treatment or public services. Civil disorder developed, with reports of looting and violence, and poor coordination among public officials.
