It doesn't change the fact that military service is not a right.
Buying a house isn't a right either, but you can't discriminate when selling your house. Getting a driver's license isn't a right, but they can't discriminate based on race or religion or gender or sexual orientation there either.

Just because something isn't a right, doesn't mean you can arbitrarily discriminate against a group of people.

You've got that backwards. According to Obama's own statements before he was running for national office, he supported same-sex marriage equality. He only opposed it in favor of civil unions when he decided to run for national office.
In other words, his position is totally a political calculation.
I stand corrected.

No, it isn't, but IMHO, it should be a prerequisite for voting.
Wow, we actually agree on something. The only problem is there would have to be either an exception for the physically disabled or a change to military policy that creates certain "disabled" jobs. Or those not physically qualified for military service could qualify by serving in some type of support corps.

That’s about what I thought.
Your assertion is, in itself, a falacy (sic), Mom. I didn’t say “all gays hate Christianity”, but that didn't stop you from responding as if I did.
Like most other posters on your team, you leap from what I actually said to whatever propaganda happens to be running around in your head. That it’s often a non sequitur and/or illogical is irrelevant to you.
You said:

Haha! As a group, homosexuals are outspoken in how much they despise Christianity, and whine about so-called “hate crimes”, yet hypocritically bend over backwards to offer support to a religion that openly attacks them in many parts of the world…and would do so in America if given the opportunity. Haha!

If I read this wrong, I apologize. It certainly looks like it means ...Homosexuals, as a group, despise Christianity..... Could you enlighten me as to what it REALLY says??

Civil unions are not recognized by the Government or the private sector in regards to health/life insurance and retirement plans the same as legal marriages. Beneficiaries in civil unions do not have the same rights as those in legal marriages. That is the reasoning behind legalizing same sex marriages.
That's why I am all for SSM across the board. Many same sex couples get married in churches. Unless they call it civil unions with all Government recognition also for heterosexual couples who don't get married in a church and marriage for same sex and heterosexual couples that get married in church it's not equal.

could help the war effort a lot if you convince the white owl smokers that its ok here in the militery, then you can put all the gayfags on the front line to seek out and find the enemy
Do you even know how many gays and lesbians already serve in the military? Why does this country, who calls itself a superpower, be so backwards? Look at all the countries that have gays and lesbians openly serve in the military. There are no problems at all.

Unfortunately we'll probably never know how many gays actually serve in the military, even after the repeal of DADT. I wish everyone would come out, but they won't for any number of reasons. As unbelievable as it seems, there are STILL people today who can't even admit to themselves- much less anyone else- that they are gay or lesbian.

OK. I should have been clearer in what I meant by “as a group.” I can see how it might be seen as “all.” It would have been better to have said something like “a large number.”

“Most” would work even better because of my use of despise (not your change to the stronger word hate.) I used “despise” because it more accurately reflects the general animosity toward Christianity by those on your team than actual “hate” does.

Despise: to look down on with contempt or aversion

Hate: to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward.

Yep, you're the typical cowardly conservative who's never served in the military. So why is your opinion of any consequence? Hint, it's NOT. Go back to masturbating with your sister's underwear.
