Economically troubled is a understatement. RI is toast. They are in the hole 222 million. They only have 1 million people in the state. How could this happen? The politicans will be heading for the hills, Rep Kennedy has already bailed out.

If the dems/progressives confiscate $222.00 dollars from every man, woman, and child they just might be okay.
The problem is they will make it $444.00 then $888.00 then thousands just like our corrupt president and congress.

We need to totally shut down our government except for national defense. There are way too many leeches and parasites.

Napolitano is a waste in every sense of the word.

I'm sure the Obama regime will say something like RI is too small to fail or RI is too large to fail, and bail them out. $220 million of our tax dollars isn't even chump change for Obama as long as they vote democrat and applaud his policies. Otherwise they can sink or swim.

Since when is it the duty of "Homeland Security" to tour flooded areas?

Isn't this the job of FEMA?

BTW, why isn't Napolitano touring the U.S. Mexican border?

"Napolitano tours flooded RI, deemed disaster area"

So now what Planet Janet. Create another government agency with government jobs to inflate the job's report?

You should have been touring the flooded area in a canoe and not a helicopter.
You bureaucrats are so out-of-touch and removed from reality with your offices in Washington and such.

Gee, Janet...I guess the waters will recede just showing all that the system worked.

Napolitano did nothing as governor of Arizona to prevent illegal immigration. As a matter of fact, she fought local officials who were rounding up illegals.

Napolitano will provide no protection to our borders and is questionable as to how she protects the USA.

Out of all Obama's poor appointments, a pedophile Education Sec, a tax cheat Treasury Sec, and a HHS Sec who lobbied for ambulance chasers (to name a few), Napolitano is actually the most disturbing to me. I live in NY, attended funerals after 9/11, and I don't feel this person has any experience or expertise in homeland security. Either Obama has no interest in protecting Americans, or he places political patronage above it.

Don't fret. Napolitano will do for America what she did for Arizona. Let's see..... While she was governor Phoenix became the kidnap capital of the country and 2nd in the world only to Bogota, Columbia. Left the budget in shambles. Trampled the AZ Constitution and state law. Stopped all prosecutions of pedophiles as AG. Helped citizens of Mexico sue Arizona ranchers who detained for trespassing on their property while illegally in the United States.....yeah, she's going to do a lot for America, trust me!
You kinda forgot that she converted a $1 billion budget deficit in 2003 into a $300 million surplus by 2006 without raising state taxes. She also was a national leader in addressing illegal immigration. As U.S. Attorney, she supervised the prosecution of more than 6,000 illegal immigration cases. As state Attorney General she helped write the law to break up human smuggling rings. As Ex-Governor, she was the first to call for the National Guard at the border at federal expense, and today, more than 2,400 National Guard members from around the country are stationed at the border providing critical support to the Border Patrol. She’s led the effort to redesign Arizona’s ports of entry to better detect illegal cross border activity and has deployed new technology to track stolen vehicles that transport illegal immigrants and drugs on Arizona’s highways.

Arizona implemented the first state homeland security strategy in the nation and developed the Arizona Counter-Terrorism Information Center, a 24/7 multi-agency intelligence fusion center that tracks and shares critical data used to keep our cities and our borders safe.
