“Research over several decades has demonstrated that sexual orientation ranges along a continuum, from exclusive attraction to the other sex to exclusive attraction to the same sex. Despite the persistence of stereotypes that portray lesbian, gay, and bisexual people as disturbed, several decades of research and clinical experience have led all mainstream medical and mental health organizations in this country to conclude that these orientations represent normal forms of human experience. Lesbian, gay, and bisexual relationships are normal forms of human bonding.”(APA)

The American Psychological Association recognizes that "Prejudice and discrimination have social and personal impact." "The widespread prejudice, discrimination, and violence to which lesbians and gay men are often subjected are significant mental health concerns. Sexual prejudice, sexual orientation discrimination, and antigay violence are major sources of stress for lesbian, gay, and bisexual people. Although social support is crucial in coping with stress, antigay attitudes and discrimination may make it difficult for lesbian, gay, and bisexual people to find such support."

We got sunlight on the sand,
We got moonlight on the sea,
We got mangoes and bananas
You can pick right off the tree,
We got volleyball and ping-pong
And a lot of dandy games!
What ain't we got?
We ain't got dames!

We get packages from home,
We get movies, we get shows,
We get speeches from our skipper
And advice from Tokyo Rose,
We get letters doused with perfume
We get dizzy from the smell!
What don't we get?
You know darn well!

We have nothin' to put on a clean white suit for
What we need is what there ain't no substitute for...

There is nothin' like a dame,
Nothin' in the world,
There is nothin' you can name
That is anythin' like a dame!

We feel restless, we feel blue,
We feel lonely and in grief,
We feel ev'ry kind of feelin',
But the feelin' of relief
We feel hungry as the wolf felt
When he met Red Hiding-hood
What don't we feel?
We don't feel good!

Lots of things in life are beautiful, but brother,
There is one particular thing that is nothin' whatsoever
In any way, shape or form like any other.

There is nothin' like a dame,
Nothin' in the world,
There is nothin' you can name
That is anythin' like a dame!

Nothin' else was built the same,
Nothin' in the world
As the soft and wavy frame
Like the silhouette of a dame!

There is absolutely nothin' like a frame of a dame.

So suppose that dame and bride
Are completely free from flaws,
Or as faithful as a bird dog,
Or as kind as Santa Claus,
It's a waste of time to worry
Over things that they have not,
We're thankful for the things they got!

There is nothin' you can name
That is anythin' like a dame!

There are no books like a dame,
And nothin' looks like a dame.
There are no drinks like a dame,
And nothin' thinks like a dame,
Nothin' acts like a dame,
Or attracts like a dame.
There ain't a thing that's wrong with any man here
That can't be cured by pullin' him near
A girly, womanly, female, feminine dame!

The whole concept about gay men is just flip them over. That is after you sing your dame song and none showed up.

It has been proven time and time again that Gay people aren't natural, only by banning it's practice and humanely removing them from society can peace be found for both society that must bear the terrible burden of dealing with such disgusting mutations of humanity.

And peace for the gay person, who must endure a life time of tragic realization that they are a mistake of nature, their families that had to endure knowing that they failed to produce a normal child and are forced to consider a mutated freak of nature as their blood.

How else will peace be brought to all of humanity? This is the only way to grant the serenity that everyone wants. A peaceful world were everyone gets along and are at peace with each other. Were we consider the humanity and dignity of the gays and grant them the peace that they seek so much and a just society like ours that will grant them the peace that they want so much.

Clearly, those who oppose equality, have no argument on the merits.
All they are left with are insults, pejorative terminology, and promotion of hate and death.
Meanwhile, marriage remains a fundamental right of the individual, and no one has anything resembling a valid governmental interest in maintaining the restriction on gender.
If we are striving for true equality then all mature willing companions should be allowed to marry; however many, whoever, and/or whatever; they choose to form a marriage group with, so long as all involved are mature willing companions. Until then granting SSM is nothing less than granting special privileges to a specific minority grouping and another form of discrimination against all mature willing companions and a violation of the 14th Amendment.

My parents married in the 50's. Mom was Democrat and Dad is still a republican. This was way before SSM became reality.

Let's be honest here. Anyone who opposes SSM is basically saying they don't care about equal protection under the law or religious freedom.

In Indiana if a minister presides over a SSM in his own Church he can be jailed for 180 days and fined $1000.00

It is not a "mahu marriage" bill.
Be fair. The bill recognizes non-traditional marriages, which includes lesbians (who are not mahu, actually).
The idea of changing the definition of "marriage" is a concern because it extends the reach of the institution. LGBT already had the right to marry, but could not marry the ones they loved. By this logic, everyone should be allowed to marry the ones they love, including brothers and sisters, mothers and sons, one man and four women, etc.
Truly, government should only recognize domestic partnerships, not marriages. Leave the traditional idea of marriage to the churches.

Silly argument, of course, since straight people ALSO have the ability to marry the ones they love, and it has not led to them embracing incest and polygamy.

What you need to do is come up with a valid reason to for preventing Gay people from legally marrying. The idea that straight people will suddenly demand to marry siblings, or multiples, just doesn't cut it.

How is this forcing anything on you? Aren't you trying to force harm on gay folks?

Why should YOU have the right to harm them, and their families, when those families haven't done a thing to you?

Realizing it's not about YOU is the first step.

Forced because only a minute percentage of our Hawaii Nei is pushing their agenda on the "WHOLE" majority that dont want it.
Trying to get people from looking at two of the same sex partners strolling past us locals at a beach, picnic or family outing "REALLY" makes "ALL OUR" stomachs turn "Just be honest" it's like if a 60 yr old with kissing it up and holding hands in public with a 18 yrs old, crap is just nauseating and unatural thing to look at, no matter how you want to make it a law for "US" to accept it.

Saying this is a silly argument simply means you refuse to see that other perspectives besides yours exist.
Making Gay marriage about "love" is really the undoing of it all from a logical and rational legal viewpoint.
If Gay Marriage is about love, then polyamory incest and other aberrant behaviors should be considered under the same umbrella.
I'm sure you are chafing at the use of the word"aberrant" now.
That's because changing the definition of traditional marriage is a highly emotional matter. Therefore, don't blame the Religious Right for their anger--after all, this is highly emotional on both sides.
