Let's hope Seabright is bright enough to realize that medical care for Micronesians is a federal responsibility.

I'd like to find out who the Hawaiians were that made these nuclear devices or ran these tests, so I can go over and slap their heads for getting our state into this mess.
What? None? It was a FEDERAL project?
Then shouldn't the State of Hawaii be paying the $11 million and the FEDS paying the rest (and as English mentions, that's only health care...the FEDS should be paying all the other associated costs of letting the Micros leech off the system)...after all the FEDS caused all of these problems, not the State.

Why does Hawaii have to have such a disportionate number of these migrants and their costs?

Kazman is just wrong but that is nothing new. I have defended mircros many times in here and I love the UH. I just think we can make it better.

So this is your idea of defending micros. Obviously you don't have a clue even about your own posts. Do I need to find one of your posts slamming UH?

They have the right to go to any state they want for their freebies but Hawaii is the only state stupid enough to keep giving them everything free. And do they want to move to a state that gets cold and it snows? NO, they aren't stupid. And even if the Feds give them money they are taking up housing and medical care that should be given to Hawaiian residents.

It is with gratitude that I read that Hawai'i Congressional representatives were pursuing what is a Federal responsibility to the people of Micronesia. After all the US Gov. denoted over 60 bombs in the Marshall Islands and continue to be a military presense at Kwajalein Atol. These unfortunate choices by the US Gov. will forever affect the health of the Micronesians. There should be no question of delay in funding the needs of the Micronesians.

not only that, vinagirl (#5), but with the micronesians taking apartments outside of public housing, less apts. available for locals, and most locals may pay $200 more per month for rent than we otherwise would for the same apt. unit because of the increase demand. The census figures won't be due for another year, but I'm guessing there are 20,000 micronesians living on Oahu. That's why the rent in Hawaii is the highest in the nation? Plus they not officially even US citizens.

You're right, it was the American Government that bombed them. But the Federal Government is shirking their responsibility and the Hawaii State Government gets to foot the bill.

We need a public healthcare system based solely on tax revenues collected. Taxpayers who pay taxes, can walk-in and receive quick treatment while those who don't pay any taxes, pick a number and wait.

So Ms. Dunne of Lawyers for Equal Justice are you happy now?

Are you happy that our schools are closed on Fridays and our children go without? Without education and school lunches?

Ms. Dunne, are you happy that your Micronesians friends get free health and other free benefits at the expense of our children?

Are you happy now Ms. Dunne?

Why don't all of the folks who posted about these lazy good for nothing people organize a rally at the capitol to revoke medical coverage? Come out in the light of day and where your bigotry on your sleeve.

Hawaii wasn't even a state in 1946. It's insane that Hawaii taxpayers are footing the bill for Micronesian's health-care when we can't even take care of our own urgent affairs. Thanks Dan, Dan, Neil, and Maisy for doing nothing while the economy and our kids' future flounders.

Oh, but thanks for the $1.5 million in federal assistance to help low-income families with their heating bills during the frigid Hawaiian winters.
