The rampage of every bad guy with a gun ends with the intervention of a good guy with a gun. "Gun Free Zones" are crap. It's just far better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.

The reaction of the crowd shows the influence of those who would dearly love to repeal the Second Amendment, and a few others, regardless of their public pronouncements to the contrary. Were San Francisco and NYC to secede from the Union, I would say "Good Riddance".

Simple, direct, and to the point. Lets quit trying to come up with ineffective excuses and abolish the 2nd amendment. Require citizens to relinquish most all their weapons. Only exception would be rifles and shotguns for hinting game. If we join forces, town by town, village by village, metropolis by metropolis; we as a force can change this archaic, misguided "right". The GWD.

I don't see the connection.

If we must keep the second amendment, at least let's re-word it to make it consistent with the reality of today.
There was a time when civilians could justifiably fear the federal government. But then we used muskets. And today, no civilian militia would stand a chance against the federal government. They have the numbers and the bombs.

Defenders of the second amendment always seem to conveniently overlook the "well regulated militia" part. Attempts to explain it in today's America fall short on logic.

When the second amendment was written, I'm sure no one could conceive of the kinds of weapons available to civilians today. Any updating of that amendment would have to include the restrictions needed to help prevent events like the latest school massacre.

We simply can't allow gun lovers interpreting the meaning of the second amendment to justify civilian ownership of such dangerous weapons. While we argue about these questionable "freedoms", innocent people are being victimized by them.

What are you, Sarah Palin's grandson or something? The Second Amendment need not be repealed in order to have more comprehensive, common sense gun control laws. As difficult as the latter would be to achieve it's still a lot easier than the former.

More like "ineffective solutions." Good luck with "requiring" citizens to do anything that goes against said rights. As asked before, who's going to help the people "relinquish" their firearms?

Maybe we should abolish the 1st Amendment so you'll stop posting nonsense like you do?

No, it won't solve everything, but it would be a start. It makes no sense in today's world.
