A better option will be to fire non-essential workers.
It's not like they are doing anthing essential..
How about privitizing former federal jobs.
Without the 27 levels of non-value added management, with increasing levls of 6 figure salaries, the National Parks could easily upgrade their services and operate at a profit without increasing fees.
While the lazy underworked and overpaid federal pension chasers have expenses, and need to pay for them, why is it that the taxpayer has to pay the bloated salaries and way too generous benefits of these non-essential personnel?
Hint - We Don't
Think about that before you vote in the next election.

The hypocritical right-wing tea-baggers are the so-called champions of “smaller government” and “stop the spending” and yet here we are with the right paying people for not working because they are panicking over their crazy jump off the cliff into a government shut-down…

Pathetic right-wing fools.

In every other shutdown, furloughed workers were always paid.

Why do you hate the little guy?

Oh wait... you're just taking a slap at House Republicans.

Never mind. Your outrage is just posturing.

OTOH... waddya know... Obama who said he wouldn't negotiate and wanted a 'clean' comprehensive CR, did.

Where's your outrage on that?

What a wonderful present for the federal worker!

And to think the Obama Worshippers disapprove of the Tea Party's generosity.

Why the OW's must want the children and babies of federal workers to die of hunger.

Why do you sicko Obama Worshippers want to murder the children of federal workers?

You should be punished for your attempted murder of children like that Oklahoma City bomber, you terrorists.

You child abusing monsters - you're just like PolPot and AlQaida and Charlie Manson, laughing while you roll in infant's blood, like traitors.

Like I commented to Sheeple, where's your outrage about Obama's non-negotiable claim for a 'clean' CR.

Yeah, yeah... I know... you really don't care and just want to be divisive.

yep latrine pattie is right. the 'working' tax paying right will be footing the bill because the left freeloading 47 %ers like pattie don't pay any taxes. Someday the wheel will turn and this country will get back to the 'you dont work, you dont get squat' rule like it used to be before the leftie administrations started the free handouts.

Look for the 'government shutdown furlough' amendments in their next round of collective bargaining agreements.

It's been reported that on any given "work day" that 70% of the Department of Energy staff spends on average 5 hours during "work" viewing porno on Spank Wire. Now they can do it at home with pay.

Considering how much Republicans despise
people who work in government (not themselves though), and never pass up an opportunity to
demonize them, I'm surprised to see that they
would sign on to such a generous gesture.

What's the payoff for them?

Maybe they just don't like being seen as the
party of "no" quite so much. Gun shy?

And why won't Boehner let his fellow Republicans
in the House have a vote on the C.R.?
One man, one vote. Democracy in action and
Boehner won't let it happen.

What do Republicans have against people voting?

What's more American than having the right
to vote?

How strange. How anti-American.

Call Boehner's office and ask that simple (rhetorical) question.
