While we admire Martha Coakley's ambition and generally like to support solid professionals with roots in the Berkshires, the good attorney general may have jumped the gun a little in making her bid to get elected to the late Edward M. Come on people JBIII writes the editorials, not Glenn. Haven't we known this for years. JBIII is just mad at Martha because she will prosecute him for fraud when the health insurance scam comes out....Hey Clark will your name be on the indictment too?

It's ridiculous that everyone is worried about how "tacky" it is that Ms. Coakley is entering the race so soon after Kennedy's death.
Let's see during Kennedy's funeral there were people with signs touting Obama healthcare reform and everyone was worried about Joe Kennedy's "performance" for the speech he gave at the funeral. Gee, this was a funeral wasn't it and not a political rally? Talk about tacky!! However the ultimate tacky or maybe it's just plan illegal or should be illegal is the Massachusetts Legislature playing fast and loose with the laws to insure a Republican is never seated in the Senator's office. Changing at their whim the laws to suit their own purposes with not a whimper from either the Democrat loving public or the leaders and the media in our fine area. Now that is TACKY!!!! Instead they are worried about appearances. I call it "keeping up appearances". Oh dear what will the public think about Ms. Coakley leading the charge for the Senate seat. It's just so unseemly. Yeah, right. |

Ed O'Reilly is considering the run for the seat. He ran against Kerry and got 30% of the vote, and gave one hell of a barnburner of a speech at the State Democratic Convention in 2007.
The successor to Kennedy will not be decided by the local pols, but by the whole state. Get real. |
