Revised Akaka bill is introduced in Congress
A new version of the bill no longer specifically bans a Hawaiian government entity from running a gambling operation or from setting up a reservation similar to those established for Native Americans.

Get ready, Hawaii... Here come the casinos! No doubt, built on vacant land that Inouye and his crooks just happen to own... who knows what the other bureaucrooks own that are not on the record!! And the train to no where will stop at each casino...... maybe even have gambling on the train cars if they go through 'reservation lands'....

Hawaii was stolen by a country that prides itself in being democratic and fair to it's people. Their is nothing Democratic or fair about stealing 1.8 million acres from Hawaiians and then not even granting them the same rights as the Native Americans or Alaskan Natives. If we truly want to be a Government for the people and by the people we cannot allow greed and power to steer our decisions allowing us to RUN OVER THE PEOPLE! Native Hawaiians deserve much more then either the Akaka bill or the Hawaiian sovereignty movement would ever give them. How do you return over 100 years of injustice? How do you recover the social structure, homes, people, families and culture that were here in 1893 and would have flourished over the past 100 years. Money, land or legal rights will not fix this injustice any more then it would fix the heart of a person that had lost a loved one to a murder. But it is still the right thing to do.
