The GOP's Diverse Candidates Take the Stage

Full story: WTVJ Miami Channel 6

After two successive elections that have exposed the Republican Party to ridicule for its lack of diversity and narrow demographic appeal, the GOP suddenly finds itself with an unexpected bounty.

If these diverse candidates are moderate Republicans, that's one thing. But if all they do, just like Michael Steele, is regurgitate the rabid nonsense that comes out of the hard right, it makes no difference. That's not going to make many blacks, for example, vote Republican.

In desperation the GOP will attempt to run someone like Bobby Jindal of LA, since he is Hindustani, to pretend they are diverse. They'll be begging Condi Rice to run also. She's darker than Obama!!!

Right now they have resumed their caterwauling, because it's 8-9 months into the Obama Administration and of course things aren't peachy already. However, if you take a longer perspective, Obama is not STUPID duh, though Republicans seem to be in thinking he is floundering, and what he is setting up will come to fruition and people will like it.

If anything brings down Obama it will be the goddam Taliban. There they'll sit, hiding behind civilian villages, so it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. They pose a security threat to India and all Afghanistan's neighbors, yet if you put troops in to fight them, then you're painted as the Yankee imperialist invader.

I always disagreed with GW's war in Iraq... based on lies, going after the wrong people, etc. However, I wanted the USA and UK to invade Afghanistan BEFORE 9-11, just because of the Taliban. They enslave women. They create a human rights situation which is intolerable and the world can't sit by amorally and pretend it's not our business.

And it's not an indigenous Afghan thing, because there are Arab Wahabists all over it.

100% Co-sign

However, if the Democrats don't start growing some nads when dealing with the rabid members of the Republican party, then you'll end up with just that.

I'm suggesting that Liberals AND Democrats (because not all Democrats are liberal) need to stop trying to be bipartisan with a group that doesn't give a poop about being bipartisan and are only concerned about how much profit they'll get.

I'm saying that Democrats and Liberals need to go after Republicans the way cong. Barney Frank went after that woman who parrots what the jive turkeys on fearmonger radio and TV.

I could not agree more. The vast majority of Republicans in Congress have absolutely no interest in bipartisanship. They are obstructionist, and are doing everything they can to delegitimize the Obama presidency. With all their fear-mongering about health care reform, as well as unrelenting criticism of anything Obama proposes--and without offering any solutions of their own--they are obviously more interested in returning to power than in the well-being of Americans.

So, if I were a Congressional Democrat, I would be seeking a way to accomplish objectives without their input.

Obama needs to call in Blue Dogs(Republicans in Dem's clothes)and let them know if they side with the GOP Obstructionist, the reactionary ideology of the party of NO, this will be their last term. He needs 60 votes to bring it to a vote, then the cowards that are up for re-election can can say they didn't vote for it. At that time he only needs 51 votes. He then would need none of the Obstructionists vote. If he pulls it off, he is unbeatable in 2012, if he doesn't he will be a one termer. Huckbee, Palin, Gringrich, Cheney or any other far right winger in the GOP want be able to unseat him, it will have to be a third party or a moderate. The GOP can't bring back the independents(swing voters) they need by running a hard right conservative(no matter what their defacto leader, Limbaugh says "flush and purge the party of moderates")and the GOP will go down to a defeat greater than Goldwater 1964.

You are absolutely right. These Blue Dogs are doing just as much damage as the Republicans, and seem hell-bent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, so to speak. They need to be informed in no uncertain terms that there will be negative political consequences if they continue
to aid and abet, or even enable, the GOP obstructionists.

Yes but he is Hindustani, meaning of Indian origin.

Afghanistan for a very long time was in the Indian cultural orbit. Islam alienated them from India. Afghanistan in many areas is unchanged for many centuries. You can in fact see many aspects of the very ancient Indoeuropean (Aryan) culture in Afghanistan, in the culture of rural Persic-speakers in the West as well as Pushtun and others.

Islam caused the loss of a lot of Indian-based culture in Afghanistan, and the Taliban attempted to accelerate this process, as in the famous incident of bombing Buddhist statues. Islam has been a blight on Afghanistan, as everywhere it goes.

MSNBC's Racheal Maddow Show Propels Growing Scandal Over Washington's "Christian Mafia"

In a new August 17, 2009 Maddow show segment [link to MSNBC page with viewable show segment], Rachel Maddow and Jeff Sharlet discuss, among many new revelations, the disturbing fact that the "Christian Embassy" scandal, propelled by a complaint to the Department of Defense from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, was investigated by a Pentagon Inspector General who is in fact a Family member.
The Family, also known as "The Fellowship", is a secretive fundamentalist Washington DC ministry which runs the National Prayer Breakfast and Bible study groups attended by numerous US Senators and Congress members, wields global influence, and celebrates the leadership lessons of Hitler, Lenin, and Mao.
http://www.insider-magazine.com/ChristianMafi...
Washington D.C. is home to the self-styled Christian mafia, a secretive Christian fundamentalist organization with deep ties to power elites in the US and the world. The Capitol Hill house on C Street has been making the headlines of late, and the news is not good. It seems the house on C Street is a Christian fundamentalist frat house for US congressman and senators.

The house, sometimes referred to as the "C Street Complex", is actually home base for a secretive international Christian cult. This cult is sometimes referred to as "the family" or "the fellowship". The family espouses strange and nefarious goals. Indeed, their mission is to create a universal Christian theocracy, a world where all governments are subordinate to this peculiar and secretive Christian sect.

The family at C Street preaches a secretive doctrine known as the "Seven Mountains Mandate" in which believers seek to gain world control, by gaining influence over seven key sectors of society: religion, government, media, education, arts and entertainment, family, and business. The group is racist and sexist, believing in a strong patriarchy and that God has chosen rich white elites to rule. Members take an oath and are sworn to secrecy.

The Capitol Hill house on C Street eludes property taxes by being listed as a church. According to The Associated Press, Reps. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn.; Jim Demint, R-S.C.; and Sens. Ensign and Sam Brownback, R-Kan., live in private rooms upstairs in the $1.1 million house and pay $600 a month in rent. The whole thing smells of corruption spiced with Christianity. The odor is obnoxious.

The family teaches that morality is a secular concept, a concept that does not apply to their own members . Indeed, this strange cult, with ties to fascism and Nazism, appears decidedly unchristian. Rather, the organization seems dedicated to justifying, maintaining and creating power and privilege for the wealthy.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
