Accidents will happen in spite of our best precautions. What is disconcerting is the lies being spread about being there from day one and others you have heard from this inept administration. They all should be fired and recalled including that obama puppet,Udall. This is probably the Most corrupt administration in history. Making this a political issue is saddening, when perhaps, with more help this leak could have already been stopped. Too bad we have to wait for election time to replace these phonies who only care about their political careers, instead of our country.

Where was all this sudden "urgency" 45 days ago?
13 Countries offered assistance.... Obama turned them ALL down. Including the Dutch who on DAY 3 offered to send 4 specially designed "Skimmers" that each could have handled 5 million gallons a day. That is shameful. But the polls are down, so its time to act.
It may be that Ol' Salazar will take the fall for this... because "The Annointed One" sure won't!

Salazar is an incompetant, c*cksucking, piece of sh*t. He was a horrible Attorney General for the state, a horrible U.S. Senator and as Interior Secretary he's been a disaster. The amazing thing is people are just starting to realize this. He's been a problem for a long time.

Firing him is not adequate reprisal.

There must be sever consequences before this type of incompetence can be stopped in government.

I respect these small groups looking past their own party politics to actually try to enact real change. I wish they would see the forest for the trees, however, in allowing safer methods of drilling on land and in shallow waters. The big groups like the Sierra Club are all about money, and their ad touting Obama is no doubt well paid for. Teddy is rolling in his grave.

In my experience, Salazar evaded insurance reporting regulations when he was CO Attorney General. Thus why should Salazar be trusted to run Interior? Look at "Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency". http://www.cirsa.org/ The Division of Insurance lists CIRSA as a "Governmental Self Ins Pool" While Salazar was CO AG and since, the State of Colorado admitted that it does not keep as required by CRS 24-10-115.5 (5)“The commissioner of insurance, or any person authorized by him, shall conduct an insurance examination at least once a year to determine that proper underwriting techniques and sound funding, loss reserves, and claims procedures are being followed.” With Salazar's knowledge the state decided to ignore that law while Salazar was CO AG.
The attorney bills paid by CIRSA show
2/19/03 "Telephone calls from and to Colorado Attorney General re case status".(Salazar was CO AG) 6/26/03 "Confer with attorney general regarding case status" 8/07/03 "Telephone call from State Insurance staff regarding plaintiffs' demands, case background etc." That was related to my open records request for CIRSA's claims handling policies. 8/28/03 "Conference with Attorney General regarding state response to plaintiffs". 9/04/03 "Confer with Dawes regarding injunction and insurance commissioner issues". 10/16/03 "Telephone calls insurance commissioner regarding case status" 10/17/03 "telephone calls from and to Gambrill with insurance commissioner".

My case was dismissed by former judge Naughty Nottingham without an opinion. See D of CO 02-cv-1950 on PACER document 455 after CIRSA paid for many private phone calls to and from the federal court.
Nottingham was not prosecuted for his involvement with the Denver Players brothel. Interior's MMS Interior Denver staff was not prosecuted for involvement with prostitutes paid by oil companies.

I guess Salazar will need to trade in that white 10 gallon hat for a black one, HUH?

I thought he would be better than this. He braved going to Iraq and gave honest reports from there, and I respected that. I have disagreed with him on many things, but he turned out to be a real lightweight, worse than I expected. Too bad.

" How cool...the Left is fighting the Left. I wonder if they'll scream at him in the shower too. "

The DEMONRATS will do a lot more in the shower especially if he drops the soap. They are GOOD at that; see the LEFT COAST as an example.

Salazar's appointment was just another PAYOFF by the Annointed One's CORONATION in Denver.

I'll bet he just might be starting to regret his Chicago style backroom deals; the damage control is getting obvious to the rest of the country.

His administration is getting to be more corrupt than the Harding administration:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_G._Hardin...

President Harding headed a cabinet of notable men such as Charles Evans Hughes, Andrew Mellon, and future president Herbert Hoover. However, he was careless with other associates and rewarded his close friends with powerful positions.

Amen, I was wondering why the Administration was saying how they would take over if BP could not get it together. Hey, if you have an idea how to stop the leak...SHARE IT. There was a time when Salazar really did believe in the people who elected him and would gladly help, but now he is jaded by the bright Washington lights.
