Radiation I would think would be like any other poison , even preservatives in our foods. In one simple dose it might not be harmful, but in many doses adding up to a larger amount can be life threatening.
The many doses that you receive are from natural sources. Those doses are much larger than the tiny doses that people get from nuclear power plants.
