Keep seeing this 'pop' up in the news. Why now?'Seems' like a good idea.

Why not? It's already under the auspices of the National Park Service. But I think the name needs to better describe what it is. Instead of Colorado National Monument, maybe Colorado Canyon National Monument (or park) would let us know there's something besides a stone with a message on it. We've been through that area several times and I never knew it was there. Sounds like a fun place to visit!
